The ETA is this year (yes 2009) – but without any guarantee. An intermediate solution for the old version would take too much time off the relaunch, but I hope I can get the new thing out fast enough for you :-)

I've thought about that a lot! At the beginning the idea behind the Twitter sharing feature was to bring up something similar to Twitpic but for all kind of web content. This is why the links on Twitter redirect to the Zootool pages. Self-promo was definitely a part of that idea :-) I had an alpha short url solution as well, but I never figured out, how to combine the short urls with the Zootool pages. You are right with the walled gardens and the broken web conversation and I guess it would be a good time to change that in the new version along with the new and top secret Zootool short url domain I've bought some weeks ago :-)

First of all I am glad you like Zootool and thanks for all your Feedback! :-)
It is definitely on our roadmap to add more services and the first will be Facebook – second maybe Posterous.

There will be a completely revamped version of Zootool pretty soon and it will include OAuth support for Twitter at least. As far as I know Delicious and Tumblr still don't support OAuth which is pretty sad! Friendfeed's API-authentication is quite smart with their remote-key system so I think there's no need to switch to OAuth for Friendfeed accounts.

The import function is currently disabled. Websnapr, which is providing our website screenshots is too slow at the moment to generate screenshots for all the imported bookmarks. We are working hard to solve this as soon as possible and bring the import back. Sorry for the inconvenience!!

older beta versions of Google Chrome for Mac had a bug with dragging bookmarklets to the bookmark bar. The most recent version works fine.

Hey! This is a problem Firefox users already had before, so I guess you are using Firefox :-) Your password and username is still working but due to security restrictions, Firefox is blocking cookies from 3rd-party websites which breaks the login inside the lasso window. You can change your cookie settings to always allow cookies from 3rd-party websites



...or better - add Zootool to your list of sites, which are allowed to set cookies.



I will fix this in the new version (coming soon)! If you need more help with the cookie settings, please tell me.

Hi Diego,

you can export all your Zootool stuff to a bookmark file. Just go to "Board" > "Import/Export" and scroll to the bottom.

vi.sualize.us is awesome and it would be great to import pictures from them. unfortunately they don't have any export option or api, so it is pretty hard to get all images from one user from them. the only solution I can think of so far would be to import the last 20 entries from the public rss feed. that's not perfect but at least an option. what do you think?

Next time you'll add a new image, video, document or link, you will find a little tumblr button in the lasso window. just activate it and the new entry will be posted to tumblr for you automatically.
