Roan replied on December 02, 2009 13:58 to the question "Why can't I Convert an Estimate to a Project?" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi RS,
You don't have to create a project first. You can create an Estimate then once it becomes approved you create the project and retrospectively associate the estimate with the project. This links the two which follows on when the estimate is converted into an invoice.
Regarding the Project Budget, yes this is ignored during bank reconciliation. It's really there as a guide for comparing your estimated time with the actual timeslips, but we're not doing much in the way of profitability metrics yet.
Does that help?

We're working on it as we speak Mikkel, and development is progressing well. You hopefully won't have too long to wait. – Roan, on December 02, 2009 13:40
A comment on the idea "Feature request : Categorise individual invoice items to generate nice report" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi Mathew, We're currently working on multi-currency invoicing which will be the focus of our next release.
We're not exactly sure what will be released after that, but invoice item categories will form part of a broader section of work, looking at our chart of accounts which will happen at some point in the new year. That's all I can say right now. – Roan, on November 27, 2009 11:23
Roan replied on November 23, 2009 16:08 to the question "Invoice due date calculated from invoice 'draft' creation date, not invoice 'issue' date" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi James,
We already have a "issue/dispatch" button, it's either the Mark as Sent or Send by Email one depending on how you send your invoices.
The problem with automatically changing the invoice date is that it gives people less flexibility. What if someone wanted to resend an older invoice but keep the date the same?
I realise it is a bit of pain having to check the invoice date before sending, but if we were to automate that it would cause other problems.
Roan replied on November 23, 2009 15:31 to the question "Invoice due date calculated from invoice 'draft' creation date, not invoice 'issue' date" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi James,
The Invoice due date is set based on the date the invoice was created. So if you made the invoice on the 1st of November then, assuming you had 14 day payment terms, the due date would be the 15th.
This is set regardless of when you send an invoice, but you can edit an invoice at any time and manually change the invoice date, which will in turn change the due date.
Does that make sense?
A comment on the question "Do you support multiple currencies?" in FreeAgent Central:
Multi-currency invoicing development is well under way and will be the main focus of our next release, which shouldn't be too far off. – Roan, on November 23, 2009 14:20

Roan replied on November 23, 2009 12:38 to the problem "Need better handling of manual transactions" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi Rachel,
It is possible to enter Manual Transactions which are then reconciled against transaction when you upload a bank statement. FreeAgent should recognise the manual transaction matches your previous manual one, and combine the two.
Are you not seeing this?
Regarding multiple payments against bills/invoices: we know the current system is a bit clunky, even when using electronic bank statements, and we are planning on introducing a new way to explain transactions that should significantly improve this.
Roan replied on November 23, 2009 12:27 to the question "toggl.com time-tracking integration" in FreeAgent Central:
Hi Robin,
Looks comprehensive.
It's not something we'll be working on on right now, because I don't think the demand is there. If lots of our users were using it then that would be different, but this is the first we've heard of it.
Why not approach Toggl and see if they would offer export to FreeAgent?

Yes, it has. If you go to Invoices > Invoice Emails you can now define templates for New Invoice emails as well as reminders and thank you mails.
There's no support for HTML emails at present. – Roan, on November 16, 2009 12:02
