Beau Giles reported a problem in Tapulous on November 14, 2009 11:49:
Retrieving Purchased Content on a Replacement DeviceI recently had a problem with my iPhone 3G, under which Apple offered me a replacement device. On my previous device, I had purchased the 'Foo Fighters' 6 pack bundle, as well as imported in content from other Tapulous apps I had purchased; Lady GaGa Revenge and Coldplay. This was working all nicely, and I thought it'd be easy enough to get this all going on my replacement device.
Unfortunately, while I was able to get my Tapulous profile on the new device (avatar+coints, etc), it won't let me restore my purchased content. Restore Purchased Tracks (in Options and in the Tap Tap Store) tell me that 'there are no purchased tracks associated with your Tapulous profile' even though it's the same profile that had the Coldplay/Lady GaGa/Foo Fighters tracks, just on a different device!
I'm happy to provide my UDIDs for both my original iPhone and my replacement if it's something you'll need to do from your end. My Tapulous username is 'BeauGiles'.
Hoping to get this sorted without having to shell out any more $$$.
:(

If this isn't resolved I might have to downgrade to the original version, without the fancy sounds/etc :( – Beau Giles, on October 12, 2009 11:29

Confirmed it's a jailbreak issue; I have just restored my iPhone 3G 3.1 (jailbroken using PwnageTool) officially activated + unlocked to the stock 3.1 firmware and in-app purchases work.
I'd hazard a guess that it's PwnageTool that breaks in-app purchases if people are having no problems after using redsn0w - unfortunately pwnagetool is the only way to jailbreak an iPhone or iPod when wanting to run the 3.1 firmware, at least for now.
Hoping redsn0w comes out soon; I miss my themes+SSH!
However, at least now I can rock out to Foo Fighters and The Killers in Tap Tap Revenge 3. :)

Daniel I'll send my UDID tomorrow (it's 1:16am here and I'm off to bed) - also wondering if you want the receipt from Apple? – Beau Giles, on October 02, 2009 15:47
