Ben Hinc reported a problem in Ping.fm on November 16, 2009 05:56:
Strange Brightkite location behaviorWhen I posted a message with Ping.fm a few minutes ago and shared it with my Brightkite, the location associated with the post was *different* from my current check-in. In fact, it was from a few check-ins ago. Why would 1) Ping.fm be changing my location to something else, and 2) why would it be a location from a few check-ins back? Very strange!
Edit: Just be be clear, I did *not* include any location information in the post, i.e. @l. It was just a simple text post. You can see it on my Brightkite profile here: http://brightkite.com/people/benhinc
I also tried another post, this time just to Brightkite (the original went to all my networks), and the same thing happened. The location was reset to the same check-in which was different from the current location.
Ben Hinc replied on October 24, 2009 20:57 to the idea "Ping.fm integration! :)" in atebits:
The ping.fm integration was one of the primary reasons I used Tweetie 1 for iPhone and one of the main reasons I was willing to pay the upgrade fee for Tweetie 2 - certainly there wouldn't be features removed...
I've also e-mailed the developer directly and gotten a response regarding adding ping.fm integration into the desktop Mac client--the answer was less than convincing.
So, for right now I'm using the ping.fm web interface to post from my iPhone and using Tweetie 2 to check Twitter. Definitely not ideal.

Since you alaready suppourt identi.ca, it only makes sense to support other services based on the same underlying engine Laconica. Specifically I'm thinking of The Twit Army Canteen but I'm sure there are others out there.-

benhinc asked a question in Ping.fm on August 24, 2008 19:23:
Plurk verb issue/questionWhy does pinging to Plurk automatically append a "said: " to the beginning of each post that doesn't begin with "% [verb]"??? The standard "verb" for Plurk is "says" but Plurk unfortunately isn't smart enough to turn "said: " to "says." Thus, the "said: " ends up reducing the 140 characters available while a "says" does not.
Make sense? If I post a 140 character message to Plurk from Ping.fm and don't use something like "% is", Ping.fm will append a "said: " which reduces the available characters by 5. If Ping.fm were to instead append "says" or nothing at all (the "freestyle" Plurk option), all characters would be available.

Wordpress plugin not applying my status updatesI've installed the Wordpress plugin and I'm able to utilize it to post full blog posts and have no issues. However, even though I have posted more than a few updates I am still seeing a message in my sidebar that I have no updates. How long does it take for them to show up? Is something wrong with my configuration?
As you can see from my recent posts on Ping.fm, my status updates are going to my Custom URL.
