unable to update my kid's status

When I tried to update my kid's status today I uncovered a strange bug leading to two very odd screens and an infinitely loading page.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Navigate to a child's page.
2. Click on the link to update the current status

3. Observe that the page is redrawn with another page embedded in the status box

4. Observe that this page is quickly replaced by a page with only the "Green Certified Site" logo on it.

no confirmation when adding badge comments

I added a comment to the "beta-tester" badge today and when I clicked the Add Comment button nothing appeared to happen. Specifically, the add comment dialog didn't go away and there was no confirmation about whether the comment was added. I clicked the Add Comment button again with the same result. Then when I viewed the page I noticed that my comment had been added twice.

I actually wanted to have a longer user name to try and break stuff and the connection with this issue didn't occur to me :) It totally makes sense now that you mention it.

After adding a kid the success message "<name> has been added!" appears at the top of the page below the odadeo logo. The green box containing this message obscures the standard header navigation controls "Sign up » About me » About my kids »"

I'm using the latest Firefox.

I think this will probably be an ongoing problem because a lot of people won't take the time to see if a badge/pledge they're thinking of already exists.

A good way to lessen the number of duplicates that get created would be to have the badge and pledge entry fields perform a keyword lookup against other badges/pledges already in the system. That way people adding new items will have an opportunity to select from one that already exists.

If you perform a soundex search instead of a regular text search you may pick up typos, noun plurality mismatch and verb tense mismatches as well.
