Sandy has become a part of my life and I will miss her. I definitely agree that less than two weeks is not enough time to notify the user base. Twitter: not a good way to keep customers. That said...
For all who are critics of Rael's decision, keep in mind that a startup that gets acquired is actually a resounding success. A startup has 3 options:
1.) Stay independent and dominate the world (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.)
2.) Be acquired and cash in to a bigger company (Pixar to Disney, etc.)
3.) Fail
So, I applaud the Values of n team for "making waves" and getting the attention of the Web 2.0 world. They advanced the web PIM category to the level where it can't be ignored, and now someone (Twitter) has decided they need to get in the game and they believe Sandy/Stikkit will help them win.
Congrats Rael and Values of n.

bluedrums reported a problem in I want Sandy on September 22, 2008 17:34:
"hide done to-dos" is not workingTo replicate the issue:
1. Go to Daily Digest (works fine).
2. Click on any tag that includes done to-dos and past items.
3. After Sandy shows the items included in the tag, notice that the "Show done to-dos" option is available at the top of the screen. Also note that done to-dos are visible in the item list.
4. Click "Show done to-dos" option. Nothing happens.
5. Click "Hide done to-dos" option. Nothing happens.
Love Sandy, but this was working at one point, and it hasn't now for several weeks. I don't know why anyone doesn't notice these bugs that appear small but are HUGE on the annoyance factor.-

bluedrums reported a problem in I want Sandy on February 06, 2008 21:10:
bug: @done checkbox causes only page 1 of multiple pages to be seenTry this common scenario:
0. Go to Your Stuff - Any type.
1. Select a tag that has more than one page of items.
2. Uncheck the "@done" checkbox. (page updates correctly)
3. Click the "Next -->" link at the top of the page to go to the second page of items.
BUG: Instead of going to the second page, you go back to the first page because the "Next" link caused the "@done" checkbox to be checked again.
This makes it impossible to see the 2nd page of items that are not done. I don't know about you, but I can't see half of the information I have in Sandy right now because of this bug.

bluedrums replied on January 21, 2008 06:13 to the question "Can I change my settings so that Done tasks always disappear?" in I want Sandy:
Yes, I noticed today that Sandy's url includes "query strings" (the techie term) for filtering items. This allows us to tweak Sandy until she is showing the correct set of items, then simply bookmark the page. When you click the bookmark in your browser, Sandy will dynamically include any items that match your settings (query). Yay! Kudos to the Sandy team for a simple design consistent with good web app practice.
I don't consider this design issue fixed, but at least there's an elegant workaround.-

You can't, yet. I posted this as a design flaw somewhere else on the board as well. The easy software fix would be to make the "Include @done" checkbox "sticky" so that Sandy would remember your last setting whenever you visit the site. The more complicated fix, would be to make a several settings available in the Settings page for whether @done items are included in different areas, like the Daily Digest, in Your Stuff, etc. then make those defaults overridable (stickiness applies) for each session where you visit Sandy. On the next visit, the default settings go into effect again.
bluedrums replied on January 15, 2008 07:11 to the problem "bug: "sort by tag" not working" in I want Sandy:
In an earlier version of Sandy, "Sort By Tag" created a list with headers for each combination of tags (similar to the headers for each Date in "Sort by Date"). Now, I'm not sure what "Sort By Tag" is supposed to be doing as there's no rhyme or reason to the order of the items and no headers are present at all.

How Do I Send Existing "Sandied" Items to Friends?I have existing items in Sandy that I want other friends to know about. How can I get my friends to "see" these items?
