Hi tanveer!
"1. Export the time attendance data into a flat file"
You can use Custom Event Writers:
http://aggregate.tibbo.com/docs/index...
Or you can export events from event history
http://aggregate.tibbo.com/docs/ls_in...
"2. Bing Employee records from employee table to transactions records"
Can you please explain what is "transactions records" in this context? I don't understand this use case. I hope my answer will be as comprehensive as detailed question you'll ask.
Anton Boronnikov replied on September 29, 2009 06:36 to the question "Problem with Node listings" in Tibbo:
The first thing I've noticed on your screen shot is that current users name is "alcadmin" (active user name is written in description of LinkServer connection node right after "Servers" node). This is not default admin login name. So. You or somebody else created this new user ("alcadmin"). The set of nodes (on your screen shot) under LinkServer connections node is usual for every new created user with default permissions. Of course the first thing I can suppose that you try to execute functionality without corresponding user permissions. To manage "Users" context (to create new user accounts for instance) user "alcadmin" must have administrator permissions for it. Just open user properties for "alcadmin" and check if he has administrator permissions for "users" context. Pay attention that context mask is exactly "users" but not "users.*". Or you can connect to LinkServer as real admin of your Aggregate Likserver ("admin" by default). But it is a good practice not to use administrator account if it is not inescapable.
I think this documentation links could be useful for you:

Yes. You can try this. Open LinkServer configuration in client. And find "Custom Event writers" tab. Then add new entry there. Enter the name for writer, select attendance context from Entity selector and select event name. Then confirm your changes and wait while LinkServer reloading. Then discovery your database. You'll get a new table with name you've specified.
Sorry. My aswer is not complete. May be you'll get more professional answer. But you can try what I suggest. May be it will be enough for you..

Hello Chad!
Yes. You can obtain all the variety of AggreGates data from your .Net or VB application. Here are usefull links about this ability:

Did you ask official tibbo support? I suppose you can do it via support request form at http://www.tibbo.com/support.php. I'm afraid that there is no so much people who has this kind of experience. I mean old version of LinkServer. Guys who have may be are old too:) Just joking:) If you really want to know answer - ask support. I'm sure it will help!

Yes. AggreGate has its own DB. Also you can configure AggreGate to use your DB. In this case I hope you will be able to pool your DB structure, data and functionality with Aggregate. AggreGate has wide range of funcionality such as alarms, notifications, device management and so on..
Also there are a lot of abilities to use Aggregate with another applications. For example you can use AggreGate's web services. On web service basis you can build your own services to gather data from your device servers (EM1000 or what you use). Then you can put this data into your own DB. Or to handle it another way.. I want to underline that you have considerable abilities to join your own DB, applications, services and so on with AggreGate. Because as I understood you have a project and much work already done. And of course, you mignt not want to lose what you've developed so far.
If you use Mysql DB it means that your project is serious and big. If we should discuss this question as developers.. It is very importent to divide layers.. There are such layers:
1. Data
2. Logic (functionality)
3. Representation
Devices, device servers (EM1000 for example) is generally data layer. Also it may have some metadata.
If you want to build Logic you should use AggreGate. It is a universal interface for "data layer". And it is a good basis for Logic. And of course it has its own powerfull logic.
This is what AggreGate was designed for! To be a universal communicator for hardware, to be universal interface for hardware data and basis for Logic.
And my opinion is that it is not very good idea to put DB drivers into EM1000. Because it is a way of mixing layers.

Yes. This is a good example what is agent for. And I'm afraid that it wasn't necessary to implement web-service by your own. Because Aggregate has web service functionality.

I thought it will be usefull for you to know..
You can ask any questions. I'm one of agent authors. And also improved AggreGate LinkServers web services..
Anton Boronnikov replied on June 21, 2008 11:41 to the question "Tibbo + Java" in Tibbo:
In present we have no complete library from AggreGate to communicate with Device Servers (your EM120 for example) directly. It is interesting idea. And I will discuss it with AggreGate project chief. May be we could extract this part from AggreGate software and public it. Now I'm not ready to answer if it possible. May be a week later..
But I still don't understand why "far more than you need" is not enough for you? There is a way to connect 5 or more Device Servers to LinkServer for free. You can build your solution depending on this free LinkServer installation.
Of couse I can understand if you don't want to create a monster. May be you want to create a daemon?:) But if your targets will become complecated in future? Are you not afraid of becoming second Linus Torwalds?;)
Anyway. Here is a descreption of DS protocol.
http://docs.tibbo.com/soism/index.htm...
If you will decide to write you solution from scratch it may be usefull.

Oh! I forgot this page: http://aggregate.tibbo.com/docs/index... It is a LinkServer Java API page. May be it will be more suitable for you.
I just don't know what do you really want to implement. May be if you explain your applications objectives I can help more..
Anton Boronnikov replied on June 20, 2008 06:12 to the question "Tibbo + Java" in Tibbo:
To access Tibbo devices over network it is a good idea to use AggreGate (http://aggregate.tibbo.com). AggreGate is Java application too. AggreGate is powerfull and has wide range of functional abilities. You just walk through AggreGates home page to discover what it can do.
For example to communicate with Tibbo device over network from Java application you can use LinkServer Web Service. See http://aggregate.tibbo.com/docs/index...
But may be you can find more suitable ability of AggreGate for your situation and targets. I recommend you to explore this tool.
