This worked great. I think that creating a bootable USB stick on a Mac is the most deviously hard thing I've tried. And you're right, ejecting the disk in finder messes up Creator. Before pressing the "create" button, perform the ejection steps in Terminal.

the privacy features have the right idea, but are very flawed. it's possible for someone to give away way too much information by accident (setting a post to "public") with NO way of removing it from the site. this is not something i want to worry about.
