bunneh reported a problem in Ping.fm on October 23, 2008 17:02:
iPhone web page clears ping text after a network error occursThe iPhone web page should not clear the text field until the ping has been successfully submitted. Right now, it vanishes as soon as your press the "Ping" button. However, if a network error occurs at that point, one has to re-enter the entire ping again, which can be laborious on the iPhone's touchscreen keyboard.
Delaying the text-clear until after the ping successfully completes would solve this problem.

Well, our 2008 election is over with. Perhaps the A-Team will manage to get off their asses and respond to this issue before the next election comes around. If they're going to have their office in Canada, then they need to show us equal respect. – Greg Fowler, on October 22, 2008 07:36

A comment on the problem "Are you aware that there is an internet outside of the United States?" in Twitter:
Nope Chris. That's not a study. That's speculation. And it doesn't even mention Japan. Let's face it, you're not going to cite "a bunch of others" because you can't find any. Again, if you want to police the internet, open your own damn forum. If you object to having your facts corrected, don't play in forums at all. – konstructiv, on October 16, 2008 12:13

No I wasn't Chris Thomson, and even if I was, it's not your place to tell me anything. If you want to play internet policeman, go and set-up your own damn forum. – konstructiv, on October 16, 2008 10:33

"don't appreciate this kind of intrusive spam about very specific"
It's not spam. Spam is unsolicited email. This is just a temporary site feature. Yes, I think it's intrusive. Yes, the implementation is ugly. But spam? Hardly. Now if they start sending email advertising the feature to people who've elected to not receive email from Twitter, THAT would be spam. – sirspocksalot, on October 09, 2008 16:42

Dave, thank you! That worked for me on FF2, but it didn't work for my wife, who's using FF3. She says she doesn't spend much time in Twitter, so she doesn't care that much, but I do, so I thank you.
My own opinion about the bar is that there should be an option to hide or show the bar in the bar itself, and that Twitter should set a cookie to remember the setting. No muss, no fuss, no worries about what browser you're using. – sirspocksalot, on October 09, 2008 16:39

Wow!! I am English and live in the USA, you are letting the side down, we have a reputation for being polite, there are some real problems facing the world such as world recession, and in answer to your question, yes we are very aware now there is an internet outside of the USA, thanks for pointing that out.

ok... this is an "activity banner"... inspiring erm... well... activity!
Or more to the point a TON of fresh content!
Now recently, Google tipped off Twitter that they were losing "google love" for leakage of all the "outbound links".. therefore weakening the structure of Twitter.
Now... when this happened... Twitter applied the "nofollow" rule to all outbound links (therefore, keeping the link juice held in) ie. giving the site more power!
Now then... to build even more "Google Power" they need to create MASS activity... as every time a post is made on the "election thing" this (each and every time... on every teeny post) twangs Google's knicker elastic... the more twangs... the more fresh and unique content added by global individuals from differnt IP addresses... this then sends the site into "stellar mode"... enough poor bods comment then Twitter becomes the superpower about the election and cashes in on the "global" power of Twitter (fanfare please)
Twitter is NOT here for you, it's a business, it's here to become a superpower of the super highway... and with each and every post they take one tiny step toward their dream!
I an not a "twitter hater" by the way... I think its very clever... and it is certaibly not all about:
What are you doing?
Yes, this is the psychology... BUT
What it is really all about is...
Viral psychology... PLUS ... super quick FRESH, UNIQUE CONTENT!
Today, the Biggest site, with the most fresh unique content... erm... rules the world dontcha know! =0>
And this my global chums is what it is all about... so ... in Twitters defence (and I don't need to defend them)... they are just making cute moves on the world to build their business and make sure they can get as many millions (or billions) for it when they come to sell out to Google!
Shock and awe!
Yes... this is what they are aiming at... think about Youtube etc...
The Twitter chaps BIGGEST day is the day they SELL OUT!
Keep twitterin and have a nice day! ;0)
Best wishes
Lewis Clayton (UK)
