Ping.fm now allows you to view the stats. Log in to your Ping.fm acount. Go to http://ping.fm/recent/links/ Then you can view stats on each link . – Charlie Profit, on November 05, 2009 19:16

Need Ping.FM Integration!Look into sharing with Ping.fm, so when one updates one's status, it can go through Ping.fm to multiple networks....

"Recent Posts" MalFunction? Why am I now seeing others recent posts under the "recent posts" tab? I do not want to see others recent posts, or at least have the ability to look at mine only.

Interesting perspective. Essentially you have said that it is childish to offer ideas for improving the service! I wonder if your employer would feel that way about his/her customers that tried to offer improvements, based on the fact they use the service and would like a new feature. Way to go singleton!
If you actually READ the comments here, you will see we all understand ALL TO WELL the "model". THAT is why we offered our suggestions for improving the service.
Incidentally I have stopped using the link...months ago! It's not MY fault more people come here because they also are unhappy with the issue too. And more will find this as they realize they too do not like the added linkage and want Plurk to change.
And no one's ideas are invalid. That is a poor customer service attitude. – Charlie Profit, on September 10, 2009 19:04

What I am suggesting is something cleaner than that:
[user post] via "Plurk" where "Plurk" is hyper-linked to the original post on Plurk! (not just a generic link back to the Plurk main page) – Charlie Profit, on September 08, 2009 01:06

I don't have many conversations on Plurk anymore. There were a few people initially, but it seems they have gone elsewhere. I am not using the Plurk-->FB feature anymore...I stopped after Amir's initial reply to me about it. No need for me to send traffic to a Plurk when the owner essentially tells me he doesn't care if I am here or not. So, no you don't see the excessive linkage from me, I don't use it. Obviously you are not using it either, otherwise you would "get it". I reply wherever people respond. I will also visit and join conversations elsewhere as time permits. Lately I do not go to Plurk as the owner doesn't feel he needs my traffic. I have quite a few conversations going on on Facebook. It's one of my main networks. Not sure why you wouldn't see any responses, wrong page maybe? And I'm not asking Amir/Plurk to bend over backwards for me. It's for all the other users and for Plurk own reputation really. All the other Networks link back the way I describe. It looks cleaner. I found a solution to my problem after Amir said he doesn't care if I use Plurk, so I really ultimately don't care if he heeds my advice or not. And I would guess many others here feel the same at this point. Remember, I'm not the only one that has made this complaint. – Charlie Profit, on September 08, 2009 00:43

Oh believe me, I haven't used it since I posted the problem. It is a problem for many users, sadly Amir/Plurk won't acknowledge it. But I am now wondering if Amir even understands what we are asking to be done. – Charlie Profit, on September 08, 2009 00:10
A comment on the question "Change Plurk Link on Facebook" in Plurk:
Well, I'll try to re-explain the problem.
The Plurk-->FB feature adds unnecessary text in the link back. And when I would post an external link, it was even more confusing. There would be xyz123externallink.com abd8910plurklink.com via Plurk.com added to the post on FB. What I am asking is to remove the excess link text. Obviously there needs to be a link back to Plurk! But, like Twitter and Ping, encode it to be under via Plurk.com. So, then there would be my xyzexternallink.com via Plurk.com and when you click Plurk.com it takes you to my Plurk, on Plurk. Very simple.
How I use Social Media is that I have conversations on many networks with many people. I apologize for my rash conclusion that were a set up. I'd be happy to add you on Plurk. As I have mentioned above I am not sending much traffic to Plurk, but you should be able to find me easy enough for the add. – Charlie Profit, on September 08, 2009 00:02

@Loli and @Teslanaut No one is going to believe either of you are "just users". It's obvious your a plant from Amir/Plurk by the way you condescend the rest of us and our friends.
Every day someone new discovers the Internet/Facebook/Plurk....whatever. You call them "stupid" for not understanding how things work. Knowing that about you, I wouldn't want to be your friend, so you better treat the ones you have nicely.

@Talperion What you say makes sense when a company gets involved in an area they have no expertise in. For example if Toyota decided to get into the restaurant business because people say they like their cars, they would probably make good burgers too. Or if it was more of a completely different kind of food, like adding French Cuisine to a Pizza menu. Then I would agree. Adding something simple to enhance your offering, essentially adding value to give your customers another reason to buy from you is smart business. What we are asking Plurk to do, is to make their offering of Plurk --> FB more esthetically appealing so more people would use it. But Amir doesn't get it... – Charlie Profit, on September 07, 2009 22:38

They say "ignorance is bliss". Your 120,000 users probably don't even know it can be removed, if they would just tell you they don't like it. Many people in the USA don't like the way the Government works, but still don't vote to change it. Why do you think your users are any different? People are apathetic by nature. It takes an emergency for people to react.
In business, when a customer is NOT satisfied for ANY reason you do SOMETHING to make them happy...give them a coupon for a free drink, comp the dessert, throw in plush pillows...whether the customer actually IS right or not is really irrelevant. You make them FEEL right so they come back.
Fortunately I found a solution to the problem I was using Plurk to solve, so even if you did fix it, I wouldn't use it. Your loss, not mine. You see, I am right because I found a solution to a problem and am not using you for it. Who's getting my traffic now? Not Plurk.... – Charlie Profit, on September 07, 2009 20:50

Funny, I have found other topics with the same question. Now there are 9 or 10 of us with this issue that have said something about it, scattered about Get Satisfaction. Amir, clearly there is reason to research this further with the user base. Hey, who knows maybe all 100,000 people using the app will be THANKFUL.

A comment on the question "Change Plurk Link on Facebook" in Plurk:
And most other companies look at user feedback as a way to improve. So, even if only ONE person has a complaint/suggestion/idea they look at it and if it makes sense, they adjust..even on ONE persons dissatisfaction. The way you have the "xyzlink plus plurklink" is obnoxious. How many of your users actually use Plurk --> FaceBook? I haven't seen any. But I see Ping, Twitter, SocialToo (brand new but gaining in popularity quickly), and others. My friends complained about the jibberish, so instead of having me using Plurk-->FaceBook to promote Plurk, I promote Ping instead. I have a solution to MY problem. And I'm sure most others do too. You could actually listen and make the experience better FOR EVERYONE, or not listen and continue to lose market share.
There are many times a product I use changes, even though I have not complained or made a suggestion and the improvements make the experience better. Have you considered that what we are proposing will actually make the experience BETTER for everyone? I doubt it. Your response indicates as much. – Charlie Profit, on August 30, 2009 18:46
Charlie Profit replied on August 30, 2009 18:23 to the question "Change Plurk Link on Facebook" in Plurk:
You make great points Colin. FaceBook and subsequently Twitter both had different reasons for their existence than what the users eventually had in mind. They both have evolved based on the USERS experience, not what the creators intentions were for the service. Sadly, Amir doesn't understand that and eventually he will watch his user base erode away as people move to the Kwippys, Jaikus, and Koornks of the Social Media world.

A comment on the question "Change Plurk Link on Facebook" in Plurk:
Your responses are absolutely anti-user.
1. You basically tell me my concern is irrelevant to the other users, even though you never asked them what they think. You assume that because no one else has complained about the issue that the complaints don't exist.
2. Then you marginalize me by saying "3 people have this problem" (when in reality it's more). You would never survive in a traditional brick and mortar business. Someone comes into your store saying they aren't happy about your service and you brush them off: "too bad, no one else has complained". Nice attitude.
3. I ask you to give me reasons why I should use your service and you tell me you really don't care if I do or don't: "Nobody forces you to use Plurk or to post via Plurk".
This really says a lot about your business, what you think of your users, and what you think of their complaints.
4. No where have you even apologized to me that I am not having a wonderful experience with your product, like apparently millions of others are.
5. Maybe if you learned from other companies Customer Service, you'd be a little more popular. The double link in the Plurk --> FB is UNNECESSARY and ANNOYING. Fortunately none of my friends use Plurk that way. Every other Social Media company in the world uses: "via company-link-to-original-post", not "xyzlink-to-original-post via Plurklink"
The former gets the job done, the latter is obtrusive, annoying and esthetically ugly. – Charlie Profit, on August 30, 2009 14:49

3 people have the question, 6 people have made similar comments. MOST people probably don't know they can come here to vent their frustrations.
In my opinion, as a business person, when ONE customer has a complaint ... you do what you can to make them happy. You have SIX here that have been vocal about it. If there are 6 that are vocal, it is pretty much a guarantee there are many more that are silent. That's business. If you don't get that, you'll learn the hard the way.
Can you please everybody all the time? No. But that shouldn't stop you from trying. And as far as I can tell, you're not even making an effort.
If you want to lose me as a "customer"/user it's really no sweat off my back...there are literally hundreds of these "status" services. And I am happy to promote the ones I like, the ones that actually respond in a positive manner. You're last comment helps me to understand your true attitude toward your users: you don't care about them.
Explain to me why I should continue to post to Plurk? It's YOUR job to make the customer/user happy. You have six unhappy customers and have shown by your reply you don't care.
Charlie Profit replied on August 29, 2009 03:25 to the question "Change Plurk Link on Facebook" in Plurk:
Well so far the majority (all be it small) agree that the link back to Plurk from FB must change. When a company doesn't listen to it's customers, the customers go where their problems are solved. If Plurk wants to be a player in the Social Media game, it needs to change according to the users. It's really that simple. If you make hamburgers and a lot of people come in and start asking for hot dogs, you add it to the menu!
