chassett replied on October 05, 2008 14:38 to the question "Not finding email addresses within contacts." in AdelaVoice:
The current version of VeeMail looks for "home" and "work" email addresses when you use its autodialer. If neither is present, it tells you that there no email addresses for that contact. However, VeeMail allows you to choose any email address when you use the contact book.
We have expanded this in the next version (available in about 3 weeks) where you can choose any email address from the voice dialer as well. (There are going to be a bunch of other cool features too!)

Humm... Do you sync your contacts with Microsoft exchange? Also, when you say it doesn't work, what does it specifically do?

chassett replied on October 02, 2008 14:57 to the discussion "It's a nice splash screen and all but..." in AdelaVoice:
The splash screen is displayed while the software starts up various modules needed to perform its functions. This takes several seconds in the current version. You are going to be very happy with the next release of the software. It performs many of these startup tasks in the background, and displays the splash screen for a much shorter time.
Thanks for the feedback.

chassett replied on October 01, 2008 23:39 to the problem "getting new version without paying twice" in AdelaVoice:
The version that is available on the App Store right now will work with version 2.1 of apple's iphone software. There is a problem if you sync your contacts with Microsoft Exchange, though. A new version that fixes this problem has already been submitted to apple but has not yet been made available in the store.
To get a new version for free, simply go to the app store and re-download the app (as if you are purchasing it). You should not be charged because apple knows you have already downloaded the app to that phone.
If for some reason you do get doubly charged, please email support@adelavoice.com and reference me ("Chris"). I will see that you get refunded the double charge promptly.
chassett replied on September 29, 2008 13:54 to the discussion "Doesn't work with Exchange syncronized contacts... This is a little rediculous to wait this long for a fix." in AdelaVoice:
We very much regret this situation. We uploaded the fix to this issue over a week ago, and contacted Apple many times. I believe that they are running into unusual delays for reasons that are not disclosed.
However, please send email to support@adelavoice.com and reference your user name "ItsDaveTime" and I will try to work something out for you.
Again, I am sorry for this situation.

I am sorry you are experiencing this problem too. As posted to Robert Alexander's comment above, we have uploaded a fix to this issue that should be available in the App Store in the coming 5 to 10 days (Apple delays things while they review). – chassett, on September 24, 2008 23:04
A comment on the problem "voice dialer is not working w/my new Iphone" in AdelaVoice:
First, let me apologize for the fact that you are experiencing this problem. As it turns out, there was a bug (technical term for "our mistake") in the voice dialer that affects users that sync their contacts to Microsoft exchange (and perhaps other sync sources such as Apple's Mobile Me). The bug causes the "analyzing contacts" screen to persist in perpetuity. It has been fixed and the new version has been uploaded to the Apple App Store.
Although the new version of the Voice Dialer which fixes this problem has already been sent to Apple, it generally takes six to twelve business days before Apple makes the new software available to iPhone customers through the App Store. The new version will be free to you since you already have the product.
AdelaVoice would again like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience – chassett, on September 24, 2008 23:02
chassett replied on September 24, 2008 22:59 to the question "What if it learns a correct contact is wrong on accident?" in AdelaVoice:
Our staff reviews each flagged contact recording. If it was correct, there will be no action taken. If it was incorrect, the corrected version will be worked into our acoustic models so that the system gets better and better. So, do not worry that the contact was flagged by mistake, it will not cause a problem.

Is it possible for you to do the same thing except from your iPhone and not from iTunes. On the iPhone, you should not be charged a second time. I am guessing you originally purchased the app from the iPhone, and Apple only knows to give you a free copy if you download it again from the phone and not the PC. – chassett, on September 24, 2008 22:56

To re-download, simply go back to the app store on your phone, and click the "$4.99" button as if you were to buy it. You will receive the software for free (you will be notified that you will not be charged). – chassett, on September 23, 2008 16:47

Unfortunately, it takes Apple several days to make an application available at the app store after the developer has uploaded it. The problem you are having is fixed, but it will take 5 to 10 business days before Apple will make the fixed version available to the public. When they do, you will be able to get it for free, and it will solve this issue. I apologize for the inconvenience. – chassett, on September 22, 2008 11:16
