chassett replied on September 21, 2008 23:19 to the problem "Never stops analyzing contacts version 1.5.1" in AdelaVoice:
First, let me apologize to everyone who experienciing this problem. As it turns out, there was a bug (technical term for "our mistake") in the voice dialer that affects users that sync their contacts to Microsoft exchange (and perhaps other sync sources such as Apple's Mobile Me). The bug causes the "analyzing contacts" screen to persist in perpetuity. It has been fixed and the new version has been uploaded to the Apple App Store.
Our technical staff would like to extend its appreciation to NA9D and others who graciously offered their time to help us diagnose this problem and fix it.
Although the new version of the Voice Dialer which fixes this problem has already been sent to Apple, it generally takes six to twelve business days before Apple makes the new software available to iPhone customers through the App Store. The new version will be free to all users that already have the product. I will post back to this thread when Apple has made the new software available.
AdelaVoice would again like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience.

Terry, could you email support@adelavoice.com the device key of your phone. We can then look to see what is going on. You find the device key by pressing the information "I" key on the main screen, then press it again at the upper right hand corner of the help screen. The device key will be in the middle of the screen. Also, if you wouldn't mind including in the email a description of exactly what happens on your phone?
Sorry for this inconvenience...

SImply go to the AppStore using your iPhone, and click the purchase button as you did when you first bought it. You will be notified that the upgrade is free because you have installed a previous version of it. Thanks for your patience! – chassett, on September 19, 2008 16:56

Hummm... I see that three people are experiencing this problem. If any of you would like to help us analyze this issue, could you please send email to support@adelavoice.com and reference "Chris". We can provide you with a custom version of the application to install on your phone that will display more information as to what is going on. (Requires a willingness to spend about 1/2 hour with us on the phone). It would be really helpful to us and others.

The new Voice DIaler that works with Apple's iPhone 2.1 software is now available at the AppStore. Simply re-download the application and it should work fine for you. There is no charge for this release (if you are a current user). We appreciate everybody's patience on this one. – chassett, on September 19, 2008 11:57

chassett replied on September 18, 2008 21:18 to the question "bluetooth" in AdelaVoice:
Unfortunately, Apple does not yet make available to third party developers an interface to the bluetooth headset. As a result, the Voice Dialer does not word with bluetooth headsets. We will add this functionality as soon as Apple provides a mechanism to interact with the iPhone's bluetooth.

Terry, we apologize for the current situation. When apple upgraded their software on the iPhone to 2.1, it broke our (and several others) application Voice Dialer. Our engineers jumped on this late Friday and early Saturday and had the problem resolved and a new version of the application uploaded to apple within hours. We are waiting for apple to approve the application update and make it available in the app store. In the past, this process has taken a week or so. However, we are now working directly with apple to try to speed this up. The new version should be available in the next few days and you will receive it at no cost. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

PSRVA, I apologize for this inconvenience. We have been working hard with Apple to get the new release to be approved in the AppStore. Our engineers uploaded it to Apple on Saturday (the day after the 2.1 release for iPhone went live) but Apple has a review cycle that is delaying things. I will keep you posted as to when the new version is available (it has more features too!). Hopefully in the next few days. (You will receive upgrade for free). – chassett, on September 16, 2008 17:57

RH, we have uploaded the new application to Apple and have been trying to get their support people to accelerate its availability on the App Store. Normally, this has taken about seven days or so. However, we are trying our best to shorten that time frame.
You will be notified at the app store. If you send an email to support@adelavoice.com, we will notify you via email as well.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience. – chassett, on September 15, 2008 19:33

The version that was free was our beta test version. The new version that will become available in the coming days is version 1.5. It has several new features including a more flexible understanding of your spoken words, 3 - 4x performance improvement for users with lots of contacts, and 24 hour autocorrection feedback (if it gets a contact wrong, tap a button and our system will learn to do better the next time).
Users will have to pay for this upgrade ($4.99). – chassett, on September 14, 2008 01:18

As has been posted at the Apple app store, the current version available at the app store does not operate properly with Apple's September 12, 2008 release of the 2.1 iPhone upgrade. The problem has been fixed and uploaded to Apple. However, it will take several days before it is available at the app store. We are working with Apple to make it available as fast as possible.
Note, the current version of the Voice Dialer works fine provided you have not upgraded your phone to 2.1. If you are a current user of the Voice Dialer and want it to continue to operate, we suggest you delay upgrading to 2.1 until the new release of the Voice Dialer is available at the app store (again, in a few days).
Anyone who has purchased the Voice Dialer will receive the upgrade for free.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation.
