A comment on the problem "photo uploader won't upload" in Flock:
Kat: The Flickr problem is a known problem. Please read: http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi... (short answer: Flock hopes to fix this within two weeks) – Chris Vance, on July 17, 2009 04:09

A comment on the problem "Lost Favorites with ver. 2.5" in Flock:
SirenPrincess, after you downgraded and got your favorites back, did you install the full Flock 2.5 installer from flock.com? From Evan's comments it sounds like it was the autoupdate version of Flock that had problems, but that the full Flock 2.5 install should work. Several people in this thread have reported back that downgrading then installing the full Flock 2.5 from flock.com fixed their favorites problem.
This might fix your MyWorld font problem as well. – Chris Vance, on July 12, 2009 01:29

@Briana,
It sounds like many other people have run into this problem when downloading EXE files doesn't work. Sometimes just searching for the error will turn up the solution: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22T...
From the best link I found which explains the problem and the fix: http://www.firefoxfacts.com/2008/07/2...
"To change the setting, open Internet Options (via Control Panel or from Internet Explorer -> Tools) and click the Security tab. With the Internet zone icon highlighted, click the Custom level... button. A list of security settings for the Internet zone will appear. Find the “Launching applications and unsafe files” setting (under Miscellaneous) and select “Prompt (recommended)”."
A comment on the idea "Photo uploading to Blogger" in Flock:
Unfortunately Flock at this time does not support uploading images to Blogger directly, as you're requesting. I don't think that Blogger supports this with their programming code for applications like Flock.
Other people have asked about this before: http://groups.google.com/group/blogge... – Chris Vance, on July 04, 2009 20:57

Sorry to hear you're having problems with favorites. Sometimes browser extensions cause problems -- this has happened to me. If you're still willing to use Flock, here's how to fix the problem:
Go to the Tools menu, Addons, select each extension, and click Disable. Then restart. You can also start Flock in safe mode (http://flock.com/faq/show/30#q_61805), click the "Disable all addons" in the dialog that appears, and click "Make changes and restart."
If you can favorite now, you need to figure out which extension is causing the problem. Go to Tools, Addons again, enable one or a few extensions, and restart, until favoriting starts breaking again. A bit annoying, unfortunately, but you'll find the troublemaker if an extension caused the problem.
Re: prompt replies, I'll point you to recent post from Evan on this topic: http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi...
With the small company plus a holiday weekend for many folks in the US, I'm sure you can understand the lack of a prompt response.
Chris Vance replied on July 04, 2009 08:06 to the question "How can I print my favorite's websites?" in Flock:
What is it that you're trying to accomplish? Are you trying to move your favorites to a different browser or different computer? If so, follow the instructions here to export your favorites: http://www.flock.com/faq/show/36#q_61211 (or http://techie-buzz.com/how-to/backup-... for steps for other browsers. Flock steps here a bit outdated, follow Firefox 3 steps)

It sounds like the Flickr fix may take a little while to be resolved. See Evan's reply here: http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi... – Chris Vance, on July 04, 2009 07:58
Chris Vance replied on July 04, 2009 07:46 to the problem "I can't use 'log in' or 'submit' buttons!" in Flock:
Are you saying you're having problems submitting comments on http://www.reportez.com/Contact.php?pid= in Internet Explorer as well as in Firefox/Flock? When I visit this page and click the "Submit Comments" button without entering anything into the form, a small box appears that says "Please enter your name."
The first two links that you pointed out use JavaScript to do stuff. Let's make sure that JavaScript is enabled on your computer. In Flock and Firefox, go to the Tools menu, Options, Content. Make sure the checkbox by "Enable JavaScript" is ticked. While you're in the Options window in Flock, go to the Tabs tab. Make sure "When I click links in web pages, open in" is set to "the current tab."
Try things now and see if things work. If not, in Flock and Firefox, open Tools, Error Console, clear the errors there, and try the links again. Does anything appear in the Error Console? Right-click on the error and copy it so you can include it here for investigation.
If you're still having problems, let's see if your antivirus/antispyware/firewall programs might be interfering with your browsers. You can probably find these running in your Windows taskbar, in the lower left by the clock. You might have to click the little < to expand things to see all the icons. Find the icons for your antivirus/antispyware/firewall programs, if they are there, and right click -- there should be an option to disable them. (Remember to re-enable them after trying the pages again!)
If you're still having problems, try disabling your extensions in Flock/Firefox. This is done through Tools menu, Addons. Select each extension and click Disable.
I haven't used Thunderbird in several years, so I'm not familiar with the chrome error you're seeing. It sounds like it might be a problem with an extension though. There should be a way to disable your extensions in Thunderbird, similar to instructions in the previous paragraph to disable them in Flock/Firefox. After disabling your extensions, restart Thunderbird and click your links again. The Thudnerbird Support Forum might be a good place to ask about your mail problems: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewfor...
Good luck.
A comment on the idea "Photo uploading to Blogger" in Flock:
The Flock Blog Editor supports dragging pictures from your computer into the blog post. As you suggested, you can write what you want, and when you want to insert a picture, drag the picture from your desktop or from a folder into the Blog Editor, and Flock will prompt you to upload it. When the upload completes, Flock will insert the image automatically in your post.
It's a bit of an unadvertised feature, but it sounds like it should meet your needs! – Chris Vance, on July 04, 2009 06:27

If you go onto the Blogger.com web page, rather than using Flock's built-in Blog Editor, you can create a new blog post and click the image icon there to upload. Sorry that I wasn't clear on that. – Chris Vance, on July 04, 2009 06:22
Chris Vance replied on July 03, 2009 05:04 to the idea "Photo uploading to Blogger" in Flock:
When you create a new blog post and click the image icon, a new window appears which allows you to upload a photo from your computer or link to an existing photo URL. Photos uploaded from your computer then have a blogspot.com URL.
Just to make sure I understand your request, you want the Flock blog editor to follow similar logic, uploading to blogspot.com rather than to http://picasaweb.google.com, flickr.com, or photobucket.com?
(I should note that I tested this by creating a new post via the blogspot.com online editor and uploaded a photo. The photo URL is via blogspot.com but the photo also appears in my picasa web albums. The photo is linked into the blog post automatically.)
The way the Flock editor works right now is that you open the blog editor and drag a photo in. Flock will allow you to upload the photo to a supporting service and will automatically link to the photo in the blog post (at this moment Flock is having problems with Flickr, but I uploaded to Photobucket successfully). Does this appear to be happening for you when you create the blog post? You should not have to copy and paste the image URL, it should already be filled in for you. Does the image appear in the photo before you upload it?
The image uploading on this GetSatisfaction support page works in a similar way -- you upload an image and the software behind-the-scenes links to the image for you. This should be happening with Flock already.

Chris Vance replied on June 30, 2009 05:28 to the question "The Browser blocks every website I try to visit." in Flock:
Sorry to hear you're having problems accessing the Internet with Flock. Can you please answer a few questions to help the folks at Flock assist you?
1. What operating system are you using?
2. Are you using any firewall or antivirus software on your computer?
3. Is this the first time you've used Flock, or did you use it before and upgrade from a previous version?
4. Have you ever been able to access the Internet and web sites with Flock, or have web sites always seemed blocked?
5. Which version of Flock do you have installed? In the address bar/location bar, type "about:" without quotes but with the colon : symbol.
If you have antivirus or a firewall installed, this software may be blocking Flock from accessing the Internet. I would suggest temporarily stopping or exiting this software before running Flock. If that works, then it's a matter of figuring out how to make your antivirus/firewall product play nice with Flock.
If still having problems, try running Flock in "safe mode" by following the directions here: http://www.flock.com/faq/show/30#q_61805
Also, try following Patricia's directions: http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi...

I have seen similar problems where I could not favorite or check the mail dropdown. I've documented it here: http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi...
Long story short, disable your browser extensions one-by-one until things start working again. One of your extensions may be causing a problem.
Chris Vance replied on June 21, 2009 03:32 to the question "how to excute pasting operations" in Flock:
Can you copy some random text from this GetSatisfaction page and paste it into the reply box? I suspect the problem you're seeing is more to do with the web site you're trying to paste into.
Which web site are you having problems with? Do you have this same problem with Firefox with the web site in question? In Flokc, if you go to the Tools menu, Addons, select each addon then Disable, and restart the browser, do you have problems pasting to this web site?
