Our 3 day training program is targeted at developers, and starts out with the basics, day two is all about hive, pig and data pipelines, and day 3 helps you understand more advanced apis and how to debug your mapreduce programs. For those already familiar with the basics, we offer an option for days 2 and 3 only.

Also, do note that the Cloudera RPMs and Debian packages will work just fine even if you choose not to use the configurator - you just need to manually deploy your configuration files: http://www.cloudera.com/hadoop-rpm-wi...

This appears to be more of an issue with Pig that with our distribution / packaging. You may get an answer more quickly by emailing pig-user@hadoop.apache.org

Parmod, we are currently testing our 20 release, and will be making this available soon.
That said, we will continue to recommend our 18 release for production use until 20.2 or 20.3 is out. In general, while .0 releases bring lots of new features, it tends to take one or two minor releases to shake most of the bugs out.
