Leave Comments in DBThis is also a feature request... instead of keeping the comments for a blog only in ID... I'd love to see a copy inserted into my wordpress database as well. That way, if I ever decide to move away from ID, I would still have all the comments in Wordpress for me to see and use. And double backups are always a good thing! :)

Show Comment Numbers on DashboardThis is a feature request... on the dashboard, I'd love to see how many comments I have. Like by the moderate link/text, have a number (3) if there are three comments to be moderated. And by Old Comments (3421) to tell my quickly how many comments I have on that blog.
Any chance of this happening? :)
Thanks!

Comments (4)Comments (4)On one of my blogs.. only one of the five I have added to ID recently... the text/link that people click on to post or view comments is doubled.
Like this:
Comments (4)Comments (4)
The blog is this one:
http://tiptail.com/
I've looked at my theme and cannot find where it might be happening, and I'm wondering if it's in the plugin itself. Has anyone seen this before?
If ya'll who know the plugin better can maybe help me out I'd appreciate it!

Cynthia Blue asked a question in IntenseDebate on May 21, 2008 14:18:
Spam getting to WordPress BlogsI am still getting spam on my blogs that have ID installed on as a wordpress plugin. If I turn Akismet (my spam filter) off, then I get a ton of spam that I have to go and moderate on the blogs themselves. It's not being caught by ID.
Turning Akismet back on, wordpress catches the spam but it bypasses Intense Debate all together.
How is ID supposed to be handling spam, or is this how it's done and I just have to keep Akismet on? Thanks

Does ID automatically detect and delete spam...? Or at least put it into a spam bucket? I get a ton of spam on one of my blogs and akismet (wordpress plugin) handles it very, very well. I'm wondering if I turn akismet off, how will ID handle spam? If I get 100 spam comments a day I really don't want to have to moderate / delete them all.

I was just looking for this very question... so thought I'd put in my two cents.
As a blogger, I like to have the ability to decide what appears on my blog posts' comments. I feel like I have the right to decide what does and does not appear... including modifying a person's comment that shows. As much of the time i don't want to delete the comment, i just want to filter out a bad word or a link.
However, i understand ID's stance, too. As a commenting platform, I would also want my comments to remain intact, even if on someone else's blog. Because they are my comments.
So i see the controversy. And I like the idea, best, of being able to edit a comment but only how it appears on my blog. And have the original kept on ID.. and I wouldn't even mind a link back on my blog's comment (perhaps a link in the comment itself that says something like "the appearance of this comment has been edited by the blog owner, to see the original click here..." or something to that affect.
i would, then, not mind if the blog owner modified the appearance of my comment on their blog. As it is their blog. And at the same time my comment would remain intact.-

"One feature suggestion, if I may: allow your users to choose at the very least a basic theme for their blog, ie: black text on white ground, or white text on black ground. Even that would be better than what is displaying on my blog right now. "
I would also love to see this... I'm a CSS dweeb and can't do good CSS to save my life. On one of my blogs I can't see the commenting system as it's blending in to the blog background. I would love some help thanks!-
