Try RescueIDLETime for a way to record when you are away from your computer. You can find the program at http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid...
Cheers

I have the same problem. I wanted to capture times when I was busy but not actively using (no mouse or keyboard use) mt computer. I created a program called RescueIDLETime. It works with RescueTime to ask you what you were doing during periods of inactivity.
It can be found at http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid...
Enjoy

Hi Folks, I have a windows application called RescueIdleTime which works with RescueTime to record your idle time or the times when you are not actively (no mouse, no keyboard) using your computer. It can be found at
http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid...
Have fun

Howdy,
I'be updated RescueIDLETime to have a better input handler. Thanks to Derringer for pointing me in that direction. the update can be found at
http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid...

Darren replied on December 15, 2008 19:36 to the problem "Cannot capture time spent watching movies / listening to audio" in RescueTime:
I'm not certain this will help but you may want to try using RescueIDLETime ( http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid... ). It works with REscuetime to notice when you are idle and then asks you what you were doing when you start to "use" your computer again.
I hope this helps.

Try RescueIdleTime. It works with RescueTime and allows you to record your idle time automatically or manually. It can be found at http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid...
Good Luck.

Darren replied on November 13, 2008 16:46 to the question "How do you set a meeting in RescueTime?" in RescueTime:
Well, you can use RescueIdleTime to determine when you have been idle and record what you were doing. This is a simple application to record what you were doing while you are away from the computer.
More on this topic can be found at http://getsatisfaction.com/rescuetime...
The program can be found at http://ddixon.castoracer.com/rescueid...
I hope you find it helpful

Hi Kelly,
You are correct in that RescueIdleTime only looks to mouse movements to determine idle time. The program is a quick hack in order to allow RescueTime to tracking the "idle" moment s of our lives but It has not been enhanced with a more appropriate idle detection mechanism. I believe Derringer was working on a better detection technique but has not provided any code for the modifications.

A comment on the praise "RescueIdleTime augments usefulness of RescueTime stats" in RescueTime:
Hi Zeke,
Is there a particular problem/behaviour/messge that you are getting with the program. If you copy the executable to a directory you should be able to just run the application.
This is a simple vb.NET (express edition) application which does not have an installer. This means no item will show up in your installed program. To use the application you simple create a directory (usually under Program Files) and place the "RescueIdleTime.exe" program in that directory. Then run the "RescueIdleTime.exe" program from that directory.
The program requires you have .NET installed.
I hope this helps.

That's great. When you get the source code cleaned up can you make it available? Thanks – Darren, on October 09, 2008 20:24

Thanks Travis. Obviously I must have been drunk over the past couple days to screw the link up this bad. I think it's corrected now but send me a comment if it's still screwy. – Darren, on August 19, 2008 17:06

Hehehe, I wish this thing could be cross platform but I simply don't know enough to do that. Hey, you could look at the source and adapt it for use under Mac OSX. The code is very simple. I'm actually hoping someone uses the code and really enhances the crap out of it since my code is really weak. – Darren, on August 19, 2008 16:54
