Dave replied on December 03, 2009 00:42 to the question "Isn't Yahoo credits already free without Yola Pro?" in Yola:
Hi Everyone,
We included the advertising credits with Yola Pro to offer additional value with the purchase of the package.
- The $25 credit is not available on the main Yahoo page, but it does show if you click through initially on the Yola link and then return to Yahoo as a cookied visitor. It "remembers" you and the $25 offer is displayed.
- Yahoo may offer the $25 credit through other partners or in other places as a promotion, it is not exclusive to Yola.
- There is a $30 minimum purchase requirement. We will make a point to explain that more clearly upfront.
Thank you for the feedback, our goal is always to provide the best value and to be as clear as possible with you, our community of users. Your input is truly valued!
Best,

Professional Site Design using the Yola Platform now available from Logoworks by HPFor those members of the Yola community who would prefer that a professional designer build their website, Yola is now partnered with Logoworks by HP to provide professional site building services using the Yola platform. For a one-time investment of $499, Yola members can utilize professional designers and still take advantage of Yola's free ongoing hosting and support. Once the site is built, Yola's intuitive platform makes it easy for those users to make their own edits and maintain the site ongoing.
Of course, we'll continue to offer the Yola sitebuilder, hosting, and fantastic support for free just as we always have - this new option only adds to the accessibility of Yola's tools for those who prefer to start with a professional designer.
If you are interested in having a professional designer create your website for you for the low price of $499, please check out http://www.yola.com/sitedesign.html or click the "site design" link in our main navigation to find out more information.
Happy site building!

Dave replied on May 03, 2009 19:11 to the question "Google Ads in Blog Search" in Yola:
It is Yola's policy not to place ads on customers pages, but integrated third party widgets that customers select to add to their pages may contain ads. These widgets will be offered in the menu bar, or in some cases may show up as a default option on the page, and it is the customers option whether to include the widget on their site.
In this case, the Google Search Box widget runs Google ads on the search results page, and Yola gets a share of the revenue generated by the ads. (We do not, however, take a revenue share on the AdSense widget.)
This is consistent with our policy of offering the best solutions for our users while keeping the service free. An alternative would be to leave the blog search widget in the menu, and not default it onto the page, but our intent was to include popular options in the default settings in order to make it faster and easier to set up. Deleting the blog search widget is a two-click step, first click on the "x" in the top right hand corner, then click "confirm" and that will take care of it.
Dave replied on April 29, 2009 03:33 to the question "What features do I get with yola, if i upgrade?" in Yola:
As always, our site builder and hosting are free. There are no added features that are only accessible via purchasing a domain name, other than a very convenient service, and automatically configuring it to point to your site.
We will soon begin to add additional premium products and services beyond custom domain names - let us know what would be interesting to you, we are listening.

Dave replied on March 11, 2009 03:20 to the praise "Hooked and wanting more tools" in Yola:
Thank you! As you know, our site builder tool and hosting are free, and you can purchase custom domain names for your site(s). We will continue to add additional premium features as we hear feedback as to what is most important to our community of users, but we plan to keep the builder and the hosting free. For example, we might provide integrated access to purchase stock photos to facilitate adding professional images to your site more easily. We'd love to hear your ideas for new features!
Dave replied on November 18, 2008 23:52 to the question "charging for synthasites" in Yola:
Hi Peter,
Just like web designers use other more complex site building tools to serve their clients, we encourage you to use SynthaSite. As a matter of fact, this is happening frequently in the marketplace today.
We are glad to be able to offer a service that helps more people have a presence on the web. Designers and clients alike are often happy that end users can now easily make simple edits to update a phone number or email address.
We'd ask that you make it clear that any charges are for your services and not for the use of SynthaSite.

Dave replied on November 12, 2008 19:19 to the question "Online store and catalog of products widget" in Yola:
Hi Anna,
You are correct - the Cart widget functions on a per page basis, and to add the same products on a new page, there is duplicative work involved. We will continue to improve the product, and your feedback is important in providing us guidance on how we can make things work more efficiently. I am glad that you are finding the widget useful, and we will keep on working to make it easier for you.
