Have you tried setting a user name? Most likely the user name is the full e-mail address.

Conversion from what? TB 2? Or importing from an other mail client? Are these local folders or IMAP folders?

Robin, ah, that's a known issue, unfortunately. Your smtp server claims it supports secure authentication, so we try it, because it's more secure, but it doesn't work.

What happens when you try to reply to an older message? it shouldn't be any different from replying to a newer message, as long as you can see the message contents. Is there anything on the error console when this fails?

luke24, you can enter your e-mail address, let the voodoo stuff try to do its stuff; then click the edit button, and change it to imap, if needs be, and then click the manual setup button/link to go straight into the account settings.

Do you have the Kaspersky extension installed? if so, you could try searching this site for Kaspersky, and find topics that explain how to fix this - the simplest solution is to install Thunderbird 3 in a new, custom directory.

it does sound like users who used the contacts sidebar in 2.0 don't see it in 3.0 by default. I'll try to test that and file a bug, if that's the case.

Do you have any extensions installed? That's not a "standard" feature that I've ever seen in TB.

You can still sort by subject, date, etc, so I'm not really sure what you mean. Unless you don't want threaded views, in which case, you can do view | sort by | unthreaded.

Just change the to: dropdown to bcc and then enter the name of the list. Or use the contacts sidebar, select the list, and click "add to bcc". You mean the button to bcc the list doesn't work? What happens when you select the list in the contacts sidebar and click the add bcc button?

In TB 3, you can open a compose window and do view | contacts sidebar, and add people to the cc or bcc list. I think 2.0 was exactly the same, so I'm not sure what changed for you.

Are you being prompted for a master password on startup, and you don't know what the master password is? I'm just guessing, because I still don't understand your question. You could try reading this page - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_pass... - but it's fairly technical.

Did you use a custom view, e.g., messages 1 day old? In TB 3, we don't show the view picker by default, so you need to add it back by view | toolbars | customize, and drag drop the view toolbar widget to the toolbar.

You can't do that, exactly, but you can bcc the list, so recipients won't see the other recipients.
