A comment on the question "Turning Comments Off" in IntenseDebate:
dwferrell, you mean you didn't notice that the comments were not turned off from the wordpress admin page until someone posted that comment? because I see their closed now. The comment is probably unapproved in the wordpress system itself, not intense debate. To unapprove it there I think you need to enable to ID content management in your wordpress installation (it's an option on the ID settings panel) – db0, on October 13, 2009 05:56

Youtube feeds prevent accurate metrics from being grabbed. It seems that Youtube user channel feed links always have a "&feature=youtube_gdata" part appended to the url which I believe breaks the way that postrank is looking for metrics from other services such as twitter or reddit which generally link to the "clean" url.
In order to work around this, I believe that postrank should remove the "&feature=youtube_gdata" from the youtube feed urls or at the least get metrics by ignoring all "&" extras.

New Metric: Networked Blogs (Facebook app)This application seems to be one of the most popular blog interaction ones in facebook. It supports both voting and commenting within the FB platform and can drive quite a bit of traffic to one's post. I would like to see this counted in postrank as an extra metric.
You can see an example of their interface here: http://networkedblogs.com/p14299366

URLs break when comment is synced into WordressI just posted this comment which included a link to another site. However it seems that the link broke when the comment was synced into Wordpress. The imported url is this: http:\/\/anarchism.pageabode.com\/afaq\/secJcon.html
The original link in IDC comment is still OK though.
It seems as if the sync process tried to escape all the slashes.

Comments not counted correctlyOn this blog: http://www.postrank.com/feed/6e89c390...
Most posts report 0 comments even though that blog receives 1-2 comments at min.

I'm having the same issue now. I've sent an email to you guys but no response yet. I'm posting the two emails I've sent below
----
Weird one. User left a comment that was caught in moderation. I used the reply-by-email option to approve by replying with "approve" to the IDC email. Reply then appeared on my blog. However the approval was not synced in the Wordpress comments (something which happens as standard btw. None of the approvals of IDC comments are synced into Wordpress) and thus I approved it via the dashboard. However now the comment seems gone from IDC. You can still see its parent here and you can see it still reports 1 reply but nothing appears when you expand
---
Exact same thing happened here. This reply was on a comment that was posted moderated. Now after I approved it from the Wordpress system, the original comment and my reply are invisible. The original comment does not even appear within IDC at all while my reply

Someone else replied to the original comment and now both his and my own reply show up. This leads me to believe this is the same issue we've had a while ago

My reply to a moderated comment does not show up.I've got a weird one. Someone posted a comment which was caught in moderation. I replied to the moderation email with my answer and this should have approved the comment and posted my reply to it. The comment was approved and my reply was posted but it does not show up, even though IDC reports 2 comments and my reply has already been imported in WP.

I really think that not-idc-logged users not being able to vote is the biggest reason why not many votes are being cast.
I would thus also like to suggest the option of allowing anonymous voting as well, perhaps as an option to be enabled from the settings page. Such votes of course should not affect one's reputation.

I'm trying to modify the styling so that the voting buttons appear one under the other but I can't seem to manage it (my css is not very good). If you can think of a quick styling fix like the one you provided above, I'd appreciate it. – db0, on September 04, 2009 11:26
A comment on the idea "Move the voting options to the left of the comment header" in IntenseDebate:
Ok, It worked when put in the footer (but not when put in the stylesheet because you've marked the alignment of the voting buttons as !important in the default stylesheet as well (is this necessary?)
Will let you know how this goes – db0, on September 04, 2009 10:53
