Rimwalker marked one of Dean's replies in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro) as useful. Dean replied to the question "How do I restore the channel Guide back to Miro?".

You could try going to the menu > Channels > Add Site (or maybe it's "add guide") and then paste in this URL: https://miroguide.com/
Dean replied on November 15, 2008 14:51 to the question "Deleting some older videos from the channel" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):
Miro works by connecting you to a feed, which is really just a list of videos that has been published by the creator. The reason you can't delete these items is because you've never downloaded them — it would be sort of like deleting from the list of stories on the BBC news website. However, you should be able to just show the videos that you have personally downloaded (using the accordion tabs in each channel's window), which will keep you from having to look at a gigantic list.
We're working on making this a bit less confusing in the next version of Miro.

Try searching the channel guide (click the red M at the top left of the application, and then find the search box) for CNN. There should be some shows you can add there.
Miro will eventually grab videos from YouTube (the way you're trying to do so), but currently you must either a) search using the search built into Miro's sidebar b) search in the channel guide OR c) have a video podcast's feed URL (these are known as "channels" in Miro)
Hope this helps!

Sir_Sid: I'm really glad you figured out the issue. I was planning to spend some time today looking through all our packaging files and trying to figure out what was going on.
As a side note, I wish GetSatisfaction supported truly threaded conversations. It seems to only support a couple of levels of threading. That's annoying.

Sometimes the menu doesn't update immediately and the Miro entry will show up later. – Will Kahn-Greene, on November 11, 2008 13:55

I found my problem. It seems when merging my old sources.lst with the new one, I accidentally copied over both the hardy and intrepid repos for miro. – Sir_Sid, on November 11, 2008 05:45

Rebooting fixed the dbus error. I ran into another error where Miro started, then froze up immediately, leaving a blank window. I'm running KDE (kubuntu). I hadn't logged in using gnome since the upgrade to 8.10. After logging in once to gnome, Miro works fine under gnome and KDE. – Andy, on November 09, 2008 01:15

If you click on the top right hand corner where it says "Details" next to a drop down arrow in a circle button, it will reveal where the file is saved on your computer along with extra information. Simply click on "Reveal Local File" and it will open up the main folder where the file was saved. If you had the file saved inside another folder within that original folder that pops up, then you have to open up the next folder until you find it. After that you should see an icon of a key called a "keygen" - open that up and your # will be generated.

I also have a fresh install of 9.10 and I get this error.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
miro: Depends: libffi4 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
sid@lappy:~$
When I try to install libffi4 manually, I get this :
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
lib64ffi4: Depends: gcc-4.2-base (= 4.2.3-2ubuntu7) but 4.2.4-3ubuntu4 is to be installed
E: Broken packages
