Dewey Gaedcke replied on October 28, 2009 14:38 to the question "Why Won't My Twitter Attach?" in Minggl:
we are completely baffled by this and are adding some more diagnostics to the product to try to find your problem....if you are willing, would you:
1) change your twitter password to something you don't mind sharing with us
2) send your twitter username & pw to support at minggl
If you'll do that, we'll run the process for you ourselves and find out what's going wrong. Thanks very much for reporting this.

Do your twitter profiles have the same name (Twitter) or a custom name. If the same, go to this page:
http://www.minggl.com/panel/settings
and rename one or the other of your Twitter profiles (click on the name to edit)
That might solve the problem but I'll have to check with that engineer in the AM

Chip....two things:
1) we do have some updated Facebook code that should have been pushed live this PM...I'll check in the morning about it and repost here
2) did you have an old beta copy of minggl installed on this PC long ago?? Firefox will not let us remove the old local DB file and in some cases with the old beta, that file has gotten damaged and no longer stores properly. If you DID previously have old Minggl installed on this machine, let me know and I'll post directions:
Actually, here they are:
1) quit FF (all open copies)
2) Delete this file:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cy62xhxr.default\minggl.db
where both "username" and "cy62xhxr." are unique to your PC
3) restart FF
4) wait 10 minutes and then check your stream/inbox
Dewey Gaedcke replied on September 17, 2009 21:10 to the question "mass mail over 100 friends" in Minggl:
I dont want to be too specific for two reasons:
1) it depends upon what site your friends are at and whether they have registered for minggl (email available) or not
2) this is an area we are working on and thus it will continue to change for the better
But with that said, the feature as it exists today only works to send messages to a friend count AT OR BELOW the threshold of the site(s).
We don't have the queuing implemented yet (nor do we think its the best solution) and so its actually a bug that we allow you to add more friends (100) to the list than the underlying site permits.....
I'll create a ticket to change the page to reflect the current limit of message recipients...thanks for bringing this to my attention
can you describe your use-case to help us determine how frequently this high-recipient situation will exists? (helps us prioritize among many features)
are you a community manager or social marketer?? How often do you email 100+ people and how do you suggest we manage spam issues?
Dewey Gaedcke replied on September 17, 2009 19:25 to the question "mass mail over 100 friends" in Minggl:
it's a really great question.....and for those friends who register with minggl (ie we have their email address), we have a solution that should be on our production servers in the next few weeks
But for your "non-minggl" friends, the problem occurs not with Minggl, but with the underlying social sites.
For all your friends who's email we DONT have, our only option is to rely on the underlying social site (eg Facebooke) to deliver the message
but each underlying social site has different anti-spam policies (myspace only allows 12 messages per day, Facebook 15 or so {last I checked}) and so our ability to email to large lists varies on which site those people hang out
we're considering implementing a queuing solution to get around their restrictions, but that obviously would not work for time sensitive messages and we'd also have to simultaneously put our own anti-spam protections in place
Please let us know your thoughts on how best to support your needs while not allowing people to use Minggl to spam others.

I'm guessing that you reconstituted an old Minggl account (is that right) and it's probably got some old friends or bad data hanging around If it's not an old account, I'd love it if you could email your login/handle to support at minggl so we can look at your data and see what's up.
Most importantly, how is the product working for you in general.....what would you change to make it better?
Dewey Gaedcke replied on September 17, 2009 03:49 to the question "Why i can't start all over?" in Minggl:
just create a new minggl user account from here:
http://www.minggl.com/register/register
and log in with that....then go to your settings page here:
http://www.minggl.com/panel/settings/...
and attach those social networks to this new minggl account
I recommend you NAME your profiles distinctly...something other than the site name....
Important:
if you need to free up your email address for use again with the new account, then email us at support BEFORE you do your new registration....wait until we confirm that your old account has been cleared before reregistering

Hey Jeb....I'm sorry for not having deleted that (now) irrelevant FAQ....when we completely redesigned and optimized our UI, that particular page / feature got pushed farther down the queue and has not been converted over. I'll be checking with the dev team 1st thing in the morning to get a status for you and I'll post another answer here. I can tell you that minggl will automatically pick up some of your missed friends every few hours.
Can you tell me how many friends you imported and how many you are still missing from each site??
Thanks for checking us out and please send all feedback (pos or neg) to us asap.
