David,
Did you ever get the CBL-CGSDI? If so, how do you like it? Does the SDI ouput work as you hoped it would? Thanks
A question for Tightrope...... is the CBL-CGSDI still the most current way of getting SDI output from a Carousel unit? Looking for SDI output to work with SDI router during digital system upgrade. Is this just basiclly a add on option to a regular Carousel system? That is what it looks like.
Also, what SDI routers will cablecast control? A Sierra Video 16x16 SDI Lassen router by chance?
Thanks!

YUV component video output of VS4 server? Can a option be changed to allow our VS4 server to output component video? I was able to change it using the Enseo player app, but after a reboot/restart, the output defaults back to composite and I assume that is by design in the driver/control module. I only ask because we are looking to run a few outputs into YUV converters for a SDI router. If there is not currently a way, can that be added to the control module or something? Someday we will get a SX server and that would have SDI outputs, but for now, we have to try to make this work.
Thanks
A comment on the question "DSK recommendations?" in Tightrope Media Systems:
Andrew,
You say the ChyTV only has a 1bit keyer? I did a little looking and it would seem it might have a 8bit keyer, but requires the files to be ChyTV specific.
See this from a document I located for a program called Dynamo for ChyTV.
"Image files with alpha channels cannot be directly displayed by ChyTV when placed in ChyTV pages. They must first be converted to ChyTV Logo or Flipbook files to display 256 levels of transparency when displayed on ChyTV hardware.
3.2 Supported Formats
Dynamo can open a wide variety of image formats for editing and conversion. Files can only be saved as ChyTV Logo (.ctl) or Flipbook (.ctf) formats.
3.2.1 24-Bit Formats
Dynamo will open most 24-bit image formats for cropping and resizing, but cannot create alpha channels in saved files.
3.2.2 32-Bit Formats
Dynamo will open the following 32-bit formats that support alpha channels:
TIFF (.tif) - Photoshop layers and masks are displayed.
PNG (.png) - Photoshop layers and masks are displayed.
Targa (.tga) – Photoshop layer masks are not supported."
I was looking at the ChyTV SDI for an upgrade and wanted to make sure it would offer a nice key. Does the DSK plugin off the conversion to the .ctl file or is it just keying a uploaded image native. Maybe that is why it looks like it has a 1bit keyer? Something to consider maybe for a feature request?
Grant
Here is where I found that info:
http://software.chytv.net/dynamo/docs...
I also found this in the operations manual.....
"The Logo Editor: and Flip Book Editor: entries refer to ChyTV Logo and Flip Book image
files and would typically point to ChyTV Dynamo, an optional application for editing and
converting 32 bit graphics with alpha channels for use in ChyTV pages."
"Still images can be JPEG (.jpg), GIF (.gif), Windows Bitmap (.bmp), PNG (.png) or the ChyTV
Logo format (.ctl). The PNG and ChyTV Logo formats support alpha channels, or transparency."
Since you made that comment a year ago, maybe you already know all that. ;-) – dslwizard, on February 19, 2009 17:29
