Upgrading from the Infovark BetaIf you're upgrading from Infovark Beta to Infovark 1.0, you'll need to uninstall the Infovark Beta first. You'll also need to delete your existing Infovark library. (We made significant changes to the database between the Beta and version 1.0.)

Hey Scott, I tried installing Infovark on a machine with Outlook 2003 myself to see what would happen. Apparently, if you don't install the Outlook Crawler, the Infovark Manager can crash on startup. I think that's what you're experiencing.
The Outlook Crawler component should work fine with both Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007. The Outlook Crawler captures email, meetings, tasks, and contacts and creates pages for them on your Infovark site.
The part that won't work in Outlook 2003 is our Microsoft Outlook Add-in. This gives Outlook 2007 users a nifty task pane view of Infovark items.
The attached screenshot shows these two components. Make sure to install the Outlook Crawler and to disable the Microsoft Outlook Add-in.

Hopefully that will clear up the problem.

The Redemption.dll is used by several Infovark components, all having to do with Outlook. Something is hanging on to a reference to the file, even though it's been deleted.
There are several different Outlook cache files. The *.nk2 file is for autocomplete. The file we want to delete is called extend.dat. This tutorial describes how to clear the Add-in cache.

And if that doesn't do the trick, we'll try something else. I apologize for all the trouble this is causing.

If you installed our Outlook Add-in, you might need to remove it manually.
Follow the instructions here for removing a COM Add-in from Outlook 2003:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/out...
The name of our add-in is "OutVark."
You might need to restart Outlook afterward. And if it still gives you the warning message, let me know and I'll walk you through the procedure for clearing the Outlook cache. (Sometimes Outlook just won't let go of these things!)

Hi, Steve. The "Broken" message appears when the OutlookCrawler can't recover from an error.
Could you send me your OutlookCrawler log? You'll find it here:
C:\Documents and Settings\{your username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Infovark
Just take the OutlookCrawler.log file and mail it to me at support@infovark.com.

Hey Scott, the error message you see is thrown by one of the components we've bundled in our installation package. I thought we had that problem fixed in the public beta. Could you tell me what version of Windows you are using?
Performing a manual uninstall is a bit complicated. You can call 1-800-833-9796, and I can walk you through the procedure. Or you can try it on your own by following these steps:
* Stop the Infovark Manager if it is running.
* Run the CleanOutlook.exe file in C:\Program Files\Infovark. This removes the extra properties added to items within Outlook being tracked by Infovark.
* Run the CleanFiles.exe file in C:\Program Files\Infovark. This removes the extra properties added to files being tracked by Infovark.
* Run the Infovark Installer and select the "Uninstall" option.
* Delete the Infovark Library stored in your LocalAppData folder. In Windows XP, this is usually found at C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Infovark.
* Uninstall Firebird by running the uninstXXX.exe file in the C:\Program Files\Firebird folder.
