Ok. I am able to reproduce this in the latest version of the Chrome Dev Channel. Talking to the Google Dev Team to determine if this is a change or a regression. See http://groups.google.com/group/chromi... Will keep you posted as soon as we have more information.

Update: we were able to reproduce and fix this (google seems to have change the specification for browser actions - see http://code.google.com/chrome/extensi... for more information). This fix will be included in the 0.9.1 version we will push out over the week end/on Monday

That is not the way it should work: everything should happen seamlessly behind the scenes. There is a bug somewhere. Hunting it down! – edwk, on November 06, 2009 21:59

OK this detail is very helpful. I am downloading 3.5.5. now to see if it might be an incompatibility with firefox. Could you please give me some additional information:
what version of feedly are you running? there is a full version information at the bottom of the page. It looks like 2.--.---
Do you seen error messages in the firefox error console? (Firefox Menu > Tools > Error Console > (Messages or Errrors tab only - warning tabs are not interesting)

A comment on the question "Why can't I download and install Feedly?" in Feedly:
I am not sure. May be something is corrupted in the firefox extension cache. The only things I can thing about are a) create a new firefox profile or b) go to your existing firefox profile folder, delete extensions.cache, extensions.ini and extensions.rdf and restart firefox for those files to be re-generated. And retry the install at that point. – edwk, on November 06, 2009 05:07
