Actually the embed icon should be visible right away. the trick is to have at least 2 or more categories with under articles so that you can visit the category page: the embed icon is only available on category pages. – edwk, on December 24, 2009 07:46

Sorry about that. Must be a bug.

Can you please restart firefox, try to login and then see in the firefox error console (firefox menu > tools > error console) and see if you see any messages in the errors or messages section? (could you please submit a screenshot of the messages section?)

Also, as a work around, you can try to install the version from Mozilla Add-ons which is a few weeks older and might not have the same bug:

But it would be good to know what is the bug you are running into so that we can fix it.

Hi lifeh2o. Nice to meet you. One of the goals of feedly is to try to help people not stress about unread counts. We understand that some people will prefer to have more information but it is hard for us to try to be everything to everybody. Google reader is probably a better choice for your style of reading. There is no simple way to do this. Here is a work around: You can go to Google Reader export the OPML of all the sources you subscribe to, then login with the new account, go to Google Reader, import the OPML and then restart the browser and load feedly.

Hi Sisi. This is a very good suggestion. We are doing work in this area for feedly 3.0. Between now and then there are 2 ways to somewhat control what is in the cover/digest.

1) go to the dashboard http://www.feedly.com/home#dashboard and mark the sources you like the most as favorite (click on the star next to the feed name). This greatly influences the propability that articles from that source are selected for the cover/digest!

2) use drag and drop on the navigation bar to order the categories you have. The first 5 and 10 categories have greater chances to be included in the cover and the digest.

We are working on trying to make this a lot more explicit.

The server logs seem to fail to authenticate the request and therefore drop the preferences update. Do you have any special cookie settings?
