Efe replied on January 28, 2009 08:43 to the question "HAVING A PROBLEM CALLING USING ANOTHER NUMBER" in Rebtel:
Tosin,
As you know, you can register several phones with Rebtel (your cellular, your landline, etc). Rebtel associates each phone with a "primary region" (country/state/city) from which you get numbers to call your friends on, using that phone. The “region” is shown as “area code for you local numbers” under your phone settings.
Rebtel has a limited range of numbers in each region. If you need more numbers that Rebtel can offer in the region (e.g. you have many friends abroad), we have added the possibility to select a "secondary region" to allocate additional numbers from. This is registered by Rebtel as a "spillover" from the "primary region" to the "second region".
Now, if you change the region of your phone, or if you register an additional phone with another region and use that phone and call numbers from your "secondary region", this will not be recognized as a "spillover", and we will connected you as if you are calling numbers in a "primary region".
f you want to use the same additional numbers from all of your phones, you simply need to set them as being in the same region (by changing "area code for your local numbers" in your settings). Be sure to set them to the region you had on you preferred line when creating the additional numbers.
Our developers are aware of this and they might redesign this behavior in the future.

Cheryl,
From Rebtel's side, the Smart Call would be free. However, your boyfriend's operator would charge him roaming for using his UK phone from Germany. Look at this related thread for more info: http://getsatisfaction.com/rebtel/top...
The most cost effective solution would be to ask your boyfriend to buy a SIM card in Germany and call him to that numbers instead. That way he would be paying his operator for calling locally in Germany and you would be paying your operator locally for calling in the UK.

Ritu,
Rebtel will not work as intended if you register a switchboard office number with extensions.
We need to recognize the number you are calling from through CallerID in order to connect your call, and when you call from an office number, it is the main switchboard number that is displayed and not the extension that you call from, which can lead to being connected to the wrong number, or that your colleagues call using your Rebtel credit.
For the service to work as intended, please use a regular landline or mobile.

Efe replied on January 27, 2009 13:00 to the problem "Can I call from an additional number?" in Rebtel:
Stas,
This is most likely because your O2 number is not registered under a Rebtel account that has credit.
Could you try adding your O2 number to the Rebtel account where you have credit?
Log in, click on "Settings", then on "Manage phones" and follow the instructions to add your O2 number.

Efe replied on January 27, 2009 08:43 to the question "How can I add my homephone as "other number" ?" in Rebtel:
Francisco,
Yes, you should be able to use land lines as well as mobile phones with Rebtel.
If you are having issues with verifying a number, please double check the number you're trying to add is correct and in international format with the "+" sign before country code. After checking the number is correct, try adding it again. If verification still fails, try calling one of your Rebtel contacts from the number you're trying to verify. Making a call also counts as verification.
If this still doesn't help, please contact us at customerteam@rebtel.com with the numbers your details and the number you're trying to add and we'll look into it!
Efe replied on January 27, 2009 08:38 to the question "Why won't the local number provided pickup?" in Rebtel:
David,
A call not getting connected can depend on many factors. 90% of the cases it has to do with how the original number was added on your contact list.
Click on your contact's name, and then on "Edit" so that you can double check the original number is correct. If it is, then please check that you are dialing the Rebtel number in the same way you dial local numbers in the area code/city your numbers belong to.
If you still can't call, please send us your details at customerteam@rebtel.com and we'll help you out from there.

Efe replied on January 26, 2009 08:31 to the problem "My oversea contacts cannot make a call to me." in Rebtel:
Myrebtel,
When you hear a voice prompt asking you if you are a member, it is most likely because you or your friend are calling from a phone that hides the CallerID when calling out. To avoid this, just set your phone to show your number through CallerID when you call out.
If this doesn't solve the issue, please send us an email to customerteam@rebtel.com with your details so that we can help you sort this out.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
