Emma replied on February 25, 2009 18:17 to the idea "Alphabetical order of author or title" in LivingSocial:
Hi CJ! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial! We appreciate your feedback.
As for arranging your collection, our developers are working on some experience upgrades which will provide additional personalization options for our users. Look for those in the coming months.
For now, each time you go to your collection (by clicking "My Collection" in your header) it will initially appear in the order in which books were added. To temporarily see your books listed by author, go into your collection. If you click on the "Author" heading, the books will sort alphabetically by author's first name (unfortunately at this time there is no way to sort by last name - although many of our users have expressed this wish, so we are looking into it). Similarly, the books will be listed alphabetically if you click "Title."
For a more permanent organization, you can also create a list (by clicking the "# Lists" link at the top of your collection), in which you can add and reorder books more to your liking.
Please let me know if you have any questions. If you have any additional feedback, please feel free to send them to Feedback@livingsocial.com
Thanks!

Hi Charlie! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
We are constantly looking to add to our user experience, so we really appreciate your feedback and ideas. In the early days of our application, we included magazines along with our bookshelf - so this is certainly something we are considering adding back in. As for facebook applications, your idea has been added to a short list which we frequently revisit.
Stay tuned for some of our upcoming changes!
Thanks again!

Hi Charlie! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
Unfortunately at this time the only way to view the leaders is by scrolling through a page at a time. If you have any further suggestions, please feel free to email them to Feedback@livingsocial.com.

Emma replied on February 25, 2009 17:27 to the question "How do I delete a review I wrote?" in LivingSocial:
Hello all!
You should be able to modify a review you have written by going to the book's entity page. Below the book cover image, under "Reviews," if you have already published a review you should be prompted to "modify this review."

If you click on this link, it will bring up your review which you can then change and resave.
You can also edit and delete reviews by going into your collection (click "My Collection" in your header). If you have written a review, you should see a word count under the "Review" column.

Clicking on the word count will pull up your review and allow changes to be made. You can also add new reviews to currently unreviewed books in your collection by clicking on "No" in the review column, which will bring up a similar box.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!

Hi Angie! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
Are you still experiencing this problem? Sometimes it just takes several minutes for the cache to refresh, especially if you are using Visual Bookshelf through Facebook and not through our external site (LivingSocial.com).
Please let me know if you need additional help.

Hi Charlie! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
Yes - this is actually a bug in our system that our developers are working right now to repair. You should be able to view more titles very soon!
Give it a couple of days, but if you continue to experience this problem after that, send us an email at Feedback@livingsocial.com to let us know.
Thanks!

Hi Laura! Sorry for the slight delay.
Are you still experiencing this problem? We performed a lot of technical updates on Friday, and these problems may have been an indirect result of that. Additionally, sometimes it takes several minutes for our system and Facebook's to refresh and sync up with one another.
Please let me know if you are in need of additional assistance.
Thanks!

Emma replied on February 25, 2009 15:15 to the problem "Quick ownership selection tab is gone from "add books" page." in LivingSocial:
Hi krysjez! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
In the past few weeks we have been making many changes to our site in an effort to improve user experience, and we have more updates planned for the coming weeks. Unfortunately, at this time we have no plans to restore the ownership status box to the search results page.
At this time, the simplest way to manage the ownership of the books in your collection is to go into "My Collection," where you can select the status of each book from the dropdown menu under "Own." You can also change the status from each book's individual entity page.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. If you would like to add any additional comments or feedback, please feel free to email Feedback@livingsocial.com.

Emma replied on February 13, 2009 19:59 to the idea "Previously asked question" in LivingSocial:
Hi FlowerLady! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial - please let me apologize for the delayed response.
There is currently no option to "block" friends. If you are currently "following" the activity of a user, you can remove them from the list of those you are following, but you cannot block them from following your activity.
We recognize that this is an important issue to many of our users, so in the near future, we are planning on adding more robust "friendship" management features, such as tracking "friends" and "follows" as separate relationships, listing all users "following" you, adding "block" features, etc. These modifications are in the development stages, with no ETA yet as to when they will appear in the product; but we will let you know once it is.
I hope this helps - Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Emma replied on February 13, 2009 19:50 to the question "Why is my collection total less now than a month ago?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Nycole! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
As a rule, we try our best not to erase our users' data. However, we are continually trying to clean up our databases to remove duplicates and inappropriate content, so some of the deletions you have experienced may be as a result of this effort.
For example: TV shows can be found in our LivingSocial: TV database, but should not be listed in our Movies database. Unfortunately, if you had TV shows in your Movie collection they may have been deleted during this purging process. Please logon to http://www.tv.livingsocial.com in order to catalog your TV interests.
When we find duplicate entries of movies, we also merge the data (including reviews) whenever possible, so it should all appear under a single listing. If you have duplicates in your collection, your count will go down when these listings are merged. When using our site, if you encounter duplicates or items that should not be listed in the Movies database, please let us know by clicking the "Report Problem" link.
I hope this clears things up. Please continue to let us know about any other problems you experience while using our site, or any additional feedback or questions you may have.
Thanks!

Emma replied on February 13, 2009 19:43 to the question "Is there a better way to manage my collection?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Karen! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
If you search for an author's name in our database, it should pull up all titles in our database associated with that author. When you see a book that you have read, choose "Already read" in the blue box to the right to add it to your collection. A box should immediately appear prompting you to write a review of this book. You can do so on this page, then return to scrolling down the page to find other titles by the same author.
If you want to see what books are currently in your collection, click the "My Collection" link in the header. This will take you to a list of every book you have marked as "Already read," "Want to read," or "Reading Now." You can sort this list by title, author, status, rating, etc., by clicking on the appropriate header. Under the "Review" header, you will see a No for each book you have not yet reviewed, and a word count for those you have. You can add reviews from this page by clicking on this status.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
