Emma replied on February 13, 2009 19:08 to the question "How can I remove all books from visual bookshelf?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Trish! Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding this issue!
The "multiple item delete" feature is currently in the enhancement queue, but no exact ETA on when this will make its way into the product.
In the meantime, if you would like us to purge your entire collection, please send us a "remove all items in collection" note along with a link to your home page (e.g., http://books.livingsocial.com/people/... to feedback@livingsocial.com, and we will do so ASAP.
Thanks again!

Emma replied on February 12, 2009 18:28 to the question "What is the correct format for adding multiple authors?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Rikki! Thanks for contacting Living Social, and please let me apologize for the delayed response.
Unfortunately, this is an issue that is currently unresolved on our end! We are working on an improvement to simplify our author listings, but in the meantime here is what you should do:
For a book with just two authors: Author One and Author Two.
For a book with three or more: Author One, Author Two, and Author Three.
Please use only commas and/ or the word and - refrain from using ampersands or semi-colons.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks again!

Emma replied on February 12, 2009 18:19 to the problem "Geographical search?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Dimitrios! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial, and please let me apologize for the delayed response.
At this time our Restaurants database is still in the early phases or development, and as such, unfortunately our search results at times may be less that ideal. We are working on some enhancements that would allow for more specific searching, but for now the terms you enter will be searched in all fields, rather than just geographically.
As for your specific search query, I was able to find only one restaurant located in Tours, France (http://http://restaurants.livingsocial.com/restaurants/294375-france-tours-lebanese-le-sidon?ref=search-title). We always appreciate help from our users, so if there are others you would like to see, please feel free to add them to our database!
Please continue to report any questions, feedback, or problems you experience while using our site.
Thanks!

Emma replied on February 12, 2009 18:06 to the question "Why won't this work?" in LivingSocial:
Hi sam2085! Thanks for contacting LivingSocial!
As a rule, we try our best not to erase our users' data. However, we are continually trying to clean up our databases to remove duplicates and inappropriate content, so some of the deletions you have experienced may be as a result of this effort.
For example: TV shows can be found in our LivingSocial: TV database, but should not be listed in our Movies database. Unfortunately, if you had TV shows in your Movie collection they may have been deleted during this purging process. Please logon to http://www.tv.livingsocial.com in order to catalog your TV interests.
Additionally, our developers are currently working on some improvements to our site as a whole which will make it easier to view and interact with your friends' collections. Stay tuned for these in the coming weeks!
Please continue to let us know about any other problems you experience while using our site, or any additional feedback or questions you may have.
Thanks!

Emma replied on February 09, 2009 22:12 to the problem "Can't add brewer to new beer" in LivingSocial:
Hi reaviate! Sorry about the delay in that fix. But my records show that it went through on 2/5, so you should not experience any more troubles with the brewer addition when using the Facebook application.
If you do, please email Feedback@livingsocial.com, and we will help you out ASAP!
Thanks for your patience.

Emma replied on February 09, 2009 21:59 to the problem "titles keep disappearing from my collection" in LivingSocial:
Yes! LivingSocial: TV is where you can find and review your favorite TV shows, just as LivingSocial: Movies will list new and old movies, LivingSocial: Books has reading material, etc. If you add TV shows to your Movie collection, you will likely notice that they will continue to be deleted.
If TV shows come up in your search results in any other category (Movies, Books, or others), please use the "Report Problem" link to let us know to delete them, as they do not belong in the other categories.
Thanks a lot for clarifying!

Emma replied on February 09, 2009 21:52 to the problem "disappearing movie reviews" in LivingSocial:
Hi Dawn!
Thanks for contacting LivingSocial! I am sorry to hear about your frustration.
As a rule, we try our best not to erase our users' data. However, we are continually trying to clean up our databases to remove duplicates and inappropriate content, so some of the erasures you have experienced may be as a result of this effort.
For example, "Arrested Development" can be found in our LivingSocial: TV database (http://tv.livingsocial.com/tv-shows/4...), but should not be listed in our Movies database. Unfortunately, if you had it in your Movie collection it may have been deleted during this purging process.
When we find duplicate entries of movies, we do merge the data (including reviews) whenever possible, so it should all appear under a single listing. Of course, I cannot vouch for each action taken by our moderation team, so the occasional mistake does occur, for which I apologize.
I hope this clears things up a bit. Please continue to let us know about problems you experience while using our site, or any additional feedback or questions you may have.
Thanks!

A quick update:
Correct, the idea to use your cross-category collection is still on the request list, but there is some good news! We have lowered the addition requirement for Slopes and iPhone to ten (10) items in a collection. This should, for the time being, make it easier for new users to achieve status.
Thanks!

Emma replied on February 02, 2009 20:11 to the problem "titles keep disappearing from my collection" in LivingSocial:
Hi Josh!
We are involved in a continuous effort to provide the most clean, complete, and accurate information in our databases, and you may encounter certain changes to your collection as our team makes these corrections. I apologize if this has caused any inconvenience.
Our TV database ideally will have one entry per TV show, which will in itself contain all its seasons. So "Grey's Anatomy" will be a single entity in your collection, rather than five separate entities for each of the five seasons. If you click on the "Grey's Anatomy" page, you can view a list of each season and episode.
Any separate seasons that you encounter are actually mistakes in our database - if you find these you should use the "Report Problem" button to let us know they need to be merged.
Thanks for your feedback! Please continue to report any problems you encounter while using our site.

Emma replied on February 02, 2009 19:53 to the idea "Why is the limit to propose an app so high?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Dave! Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Initially, the 20 item limit was imposed across the board in an effort to keep our databases as clean and accurate as possible. This is a good idea to improve user experience in our newest subject area, and I have added it to a list of potential future enhancements that is frequently revisited by our developers.
Unfortunately in the meantime the only way to bypass the limitation is by emailing our moderators (which will not give you credit for an addition) or by first adding 20 items to your collection, which would then allow you to make new additions. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Please continue to report any questions, ideas, or problems you experience while using our site!

Emma replied on February 02, 2009 19:38 to the question "Can't delete a rating?" in LivingSocial:
Hello bellemichelle83!
Thanks for contacting LivingSocial! I will agree that it is a bit confusing right now, but there is a way to remove the star rating on a book. If the book is not in your collection (it doesn't show when you go to your "Manage" page), just perform a search for the book, then click to go to it's page. Once you are on the entity page, you should see solid stars if you have given it a rating. If you click on the red cancel circle that appears to the right of the stars, your rating should disappear, and the stars will return to outlines.
Please let me know if you have additional questions or problems as you are using our site.
Thanks again!

Emma replied on February 02, 2009 18:56 to the problem "Sorting Authors in unusual fashion" in LivingSocial:
Hello Arthvr:
Unfortunately at this time our programming only allows a first name author sort. We do recognize that this is a problem for some of our users who may be used to other methods of organization. Our developers are currently working on making several modifications to LivingSocial: Books that would allow users to further customize their experience and collections, and this issue is one we have heard a lot of people clamoring for. Please stay tuned for some of these exciting changes!
Thanks for contacting us with your feedback - please continue to report any questions, ideas, or problems you experience while using our site.
