A comment on the problem "Followers and Following are all gone - when will this be fixed?" in Twitter:
The "Follow Counts Are Zero" link which I mentioned doesn't really fit your problem.
Instead, you can currently submit a Support Request (a.k.a. Support Ticket) to Twitter via http://help.twitter.com/requests/new . – Eridanus, on October 29, 2009 13:16

TeamPotvin:
Your Following / Followers haven't actually disappeared, although they're not showing up on http://twitter.com (which is a rather poor user interface for using Twitter, even at the best of times).
Your Following / Followers counts are shown as zero http://dabr.co.uk too - but you can still view your full lists at
http://dabr.co.uk/friends/TeamPotvin and
http://dabr.co.uk/followers/TeamPotvin .
I've scoured around http://help.twitter.com - but the best link I've found so far is
Follow Counts Are Zero [please click].
Perhaps you could contact http://twitter.com/Lukester on Twitter and ask him to clear your Twitter cache (less scary than deleting & restoring your account)...
Eridanus replied on August 26, 2009 10:06 to the question "Can access Twitter but cannot log in. Get twitter.com/sessions page." in Twitter:
A year or so ago, one workaround for a similar Twitter problem was to enter http://twitter.com/home in the browser's address bar after being sent to the http://twitter.com/sessions page. Does that help?
I've not heard of a 64-bit computer being the cause - but it might just possibly be your browser settings.
Which combination of browser and operating system are you using?
Twitter's website relies heavily on Javascript, and will not work correctly unless Javascript is be enabled in your browser and operating system.
A frequent culprit is the Firefox browser, which supports the use of plugins.
For example: if you're using the NoScript plugin for Firefox, you need to ensure that Javascript is enabled in NoScript, too.
It's just possible that deleting the Twitter cookies from your browser would help - though that's just a guess.

No one solution will work consistently, or for everyone. The situation is changing by the hour.
Eridanus replied on August 09, 2009 04:18 to the idea "Some clues as to why you can't tweet since the DDOS attack" in Twitter:
If you haven't yet done so, this is not a good time to bounce browsers, try deleting & re-adding your phone, or indeed make any other drastic adjustments which you can't easily undo.
Any issues which first appeared at approx. 14:00 UTC on Thursday 6th. August 2009 or later are likely to be side effects of the still ongoing! massive DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on Twitter and related services via the Internet. All Twitter users are inconvenienced in some way.
As a result, many parts of Twitter - and 3rd.-party applications such as http://dabr.co.uk and http://m.tweete.net - are working poorly or not at all. Even updates from the phone are disrupted for many users.
I hope things will be back to normal within a few days - though of course I've no idea if this will be the case. Even Twitter's API developers have no ETA.
Basically, we have to wait for the Internet (not just Twitter!) to be fixed...
To keep up to date with Twitter's attempts to get things back to normal:
• Follow @Twitter (if you can follow people at present)
• Read Twitter's newest posts at http://status.twitter.com and http://blog.twitter.com/
• @dabr is updating with useful tips at http://dabr.co.uk
• Inside information from Twitter's API developers
Meanwhile, some 3rd.-party alternatives (which have worked for me at least partially):
• http://dabr.co.uk is actively devising workarounds and has a list of @dabr mirror sites
• http://tweetgrid.com worked for me even whilst http://twitter.com was officially 'down' on Thursday afternoon.

Not that it's any comfort - but most (if not all) Twitter users worldwide have been inconvenienced by the DDoS attack on Twitter, Facebook etc. – Eridanus, on August 08, 2009 18:38
A comment on the problem "No SMS updates with VerizonWirelsss for a week!" in Twitter:
Your report of a "previous incident with verifying Facebook mobile" supports my suspicion that side effects of the massive DDoS attack on Twitter, Facebook etc. are the likely culprits here. – Eridanus, on August 08, 2009 18:30

Impatience is unlikely to help, I'm afraid. Side effects of the massive DDoS attack on Twitter, Facebook etc. [please click here] are still my chief current suspects. – Eridanus, on August 08, 2009 18:27
