Evil Genius replied on October 09, 2009 22:10 to the problem "Network Problems" in SocialGO:
There is some network level issue at SocialGO... it has nothing to do with our widgets, since we're no longer making any changes to the code. Contact SocialGO at support@socialgo.com
Evil Genius replied on September 21, 2009 18:12 to the question "Is lab tunes legal?" in SocialGO:
LabTunes doesn't change the function that you already have on your site (uploading and sharing music). You cannot use it to download songs or distribute the original files, it only lets you play the music. As such, if you had trouble, it would not be because of the widget, it would be because of having music on your social network.
Good news, it would seem, is that there are millions and millions of folks who upload and share music on their social networks (facebook, myspace, bebo, ning, socialgo, etc.). Get in line behind all of them.
Sounds like someone is trying to pull your chain...

Evil Genius replied on September 08, 2009 04:09 to the idea "Create A Multi-Tiered Network" in SocialGO:
With our LabConnect / LabAffiliate products, a person can join a top level site and then any sub site they join which is connected will have their member profile information propagated from the Top Level Site (as well as tracking if they joined the sub site via the affiliate link on the Top Level Site.
For various reasons, It is not possible to cross-propagate sub sites from other sub sites, only from Top Level Sites.
It sounds like these products achieve most of what you seek to do, and they are turn-key available now in your Widget Store.

Evil Genius replied on August 30, 2009 19:50 to the problem "Tab Doctor distorts page content and doesn't format correctly" in SocialGO:
Hi X,
We believe that you are the party that emailed us directly on this and as we suggested, the site and Tabs are working fine. The issue is that you have to reload your browser cache so that it shows you the new code. The screen shot you sent to us indicates that your browser was not displaying any CSS, which usually means that something was not loaded properly. From our end, the site looks and works fine.
If you are not the same "Dr." site that emailed us, then please feel free to send us a help request directly to help@widgetlaboratory.com as suggested by Stivi above.
Cheers,

Evil Genius replied on August 29, 2009 02:33 to the question "Modify header background image." in SocialGO:
Hi Kelly,
that is not a problem to do, you just have to use CSS.
If you provide your Network URL then we can give you the exact code. You will need to host your new header image by uploading it to your SocialGO network using the blog editor and then copying the URL of the image storage location... if you provide the url to that as well then we can give you the full swap code.
Cheers!

Evil Genius replied on August 29, 2009 02:12 to the question "How to hide ads with css from main page?" in Ning:
@Artjom
While you are waiting for next Monday, you can hide the adblock on your main page (and no others) with one easy step, NO Javascript or tricks required. You can do this for any other page by changing the "_main" in the CSS below to match the page you want to hide it upon.
(**Be sure you ONLY do this if you have paid for the right to control the Ads on your Network**)
Go to your Manage/Appearance/Advanced CSS box and paste the following code in place, then click "Save":
.xg_widget_main div#xj_ad_block_location {
display:none!important;
}

That's it, you're done.
Enjoy!

Evil Genius replied on August 26, 2009 23:16 to the problem "/page/instance/edit not working?" in Ning:
Ning disabled the instance/edit feature a while back.
If you want to make a page without a tab it is easy enough with CSS.
1) Make a page using the TabManager, then go to that page and right click on page to "View Page Source";

2) Discover the xg_ name for the tab you wish to hide and then copy the syntax below to your Manage/Appearance/Advanced CSS box. Below is the CSS to hide the Photo tab (change the "_photo" to match the tab you want to hide);
#xg_tab_photo {
display: none!important;
}

That's it, you're done!
Cheers!

Hi Shy,
There was some testing being done on the servers today and it seems that all of our widgets were disabled. We've been in touch with the NetOps from SocialGO and they are looking to restore things asap.

Evil Genius replied on August 18, 2009 14:04 to the question "Where is the chat function?" in SocialGO:
We built Who-IM specifically this way based upon testing with over a million users of the product on Ning.
We chose to allow for automatic line-breaks when you hit "enter" vs. message sending, because that reflected the "text-message" nature of the product... it is not designed as a shout-box or continuous chat room.
Therefore the messages are to be short blurbs of info that stand-alone, and the enter key is used to speed-up the typing process, rather than as a send-function.
Cheers,

Evil Genius replied on August 13, 2009 01:05 to the question "Where is the chat function?" in SocialGO:
What SJ is trying to say is:
The functionality of Who-IM is available for free, and completely white-label, in the VideoChat product. There is no reference to WidgetLaboratory in the VideoChat product, and it otherwise works exactly the same as Who-IM, but has the added bonus of being able to have a video chat as well as text.
Cheers!
