Fred replied on December 15, 2009 14:31 to the question "MotionBox is down. Again. And again. During prime time!" in Motionbox:
This is a REGULAR and common problem. Constantly down. And it's not for 5 minutes. And it's in prime time. AND, more importantly, the only thing that people see on an embedded video is a white screen. People attempting to view a video are clueless as to why it's just BLANK.
I'm VERY, VERY frustrated, and bordering on angry, as I have customers who are now complaining. I pay over $100 a month, and I don't see that I'm getting much other than frustration and anger. There are other options out there. This is just WRONG. Sorry.

MotionBox is down. Again. And again. During prime time!Again.... 8:16am on a Tuesday. MotionBox is OFFLINE. Last week you were offline for well over an hour during prime time. And yet again, when a visitor views an embedded video, they received a blank, white screen. No message. No clue. They all assume THEY'VE done something wrong.
I have dealt with many companies over the years, and Motionbox seems to go offline for longer periods, during prime hours and more often than any company! And it's not like it comes back ONLINE with new features or anything!
Is this going to be commonplace, as it's really NOT a good practice, especially for customers who are paying a lot of money to use your service.-

Motionbox is down. Again. And again. During prime time!Motionbox has now been "off line for new improvements" for nearly an hour during prime time (9:30am EST). Why does Motionbox go offline for 'maintenance' more than any other company I can think of? This is a regular occurance, and ALWAYS happens during prime business hours. Don't you think 2AM would make more sense? Plus, if someone goes to look at a video while you're offline, all they see is a WHITE BLANK screen! No explanation. No clue. I thought something was wrong with MY internet connection, and I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what the problem is... then realize its YOU. Would it be so difficult to have at the very least a message up there notifying people that the site is undergoing maintenance and will be up shortly so THEY don't think there's something wrong? Not everyone is going to the MotionBox site - if videos are embedded, one just thinks there's an internet problem!
Fred asked a question in Motionbox on November 07, 2009 14:31:
Why simple and common features not available on MotionBox?So.... I'm paying over $100 a month for a PRO account with MotionBox. I still can't do a BASIC search through the videos on my account. I still can't upload a still image as a preview for my videos. These are things that many companies offer for FREE. I don't understand why this is not possible on this platform. Many people have requested this feature, and the only response seems to be "sorry, we can't do that right now but thanks for the feedback". These are SIMPLE and COMMON attributes of video sharing sites all over the web. Why is it that it's not possible on MotionBox?
Fred asked a question in Motionbox on October 23, 2009 21:12:
Why can't one SEARCH on the titles of Motionbox videos? This seems so obvious.... why can't one search by any of the words in the TITLE of the video? To find a video of mine is an ARDUOUS task of going through, page by page looking at videos to find what I need. That seems a bit ridiculous, no?

Videos won't play. None of them. Why do no videos play? The thing just keeps turning and turning and turning and turning. Test 6 videos and NONE are playing.

Motion Box is down AGAIN. 7 hours later. Unacceptable.I'm becoming extremely frustrated with this service that I'm paying over $100 per month for! Last night for nearly an hour I could not upload anything NOR could any videos be viewed. 8 hours later it's still the same situation! MotionBox is doing "maintenance" ALL THE TIME. That is absolutely unacceptable. If your business is not ready for prime time then you should pull it down and go back to the drawing board and get it right before you start charging people to use it. I would like to know EXACTLY how many times per day this site is down and for how long. If things don't get better, I will find another solution that is reliable.
Fred asked a question in Motionbox on June 05, 2009 03:29:
Why is MotionBox down AGAIN?Is this site down AGAIN? A recent video is filled with glitches that are not on the original file uploaded, and now I can't upload again. Your uploader doesn't work and your website is a mess... all the graphics are missing and nothing can be uploaded.
How often does this site actually GO DOWN? How often do you do maintenance? It feels like every time I go on, the site is down... and I'm paying over $100/mo to use Motionbox, so am getting a little frustrated. I understand the need for maintenance, but it seems like it's a daily thing.. if not more than once a day.

Embedded videos won't play.No embedded videos are playing now? What's the problem? It plays fine on your site, but not as an embedded video. The page is just blank.

Fred replied on February 17, 2009 12:44 to the question "Random image at start of video" in Motionbox:
Garrett: Am in the same boat. I think I'm going to bail as well as are several people I recommended this service to. Nobody is happy with this, and yet nothing gets changed. This just seems like a simple issue - even just revert back to the way it was before - that would be a huge improvement.
And as far as the image not being "random".... I highly doubt ANYONE edits a video so that the frame they want to present is exactly the halfway mark of the video - that's just an idiotic concept. It's still RANDOM. And it looks absolutely horrible.
Fred replied on January 31, 2009 20:29 to the question "Random image at start of video" in Motionbox:
Any progress on this? Many, MANY sites at least let you upload a still photo that would be displayed. That doesn't seem like a major deal, but there needs to be some control over the image. Personally I'd just rather having nothing than these random frames, most of which are ridiculous looking and almost unidentifable.
