Good thinking about an iPhone client for Spotify. That device is a great platform for music applications, and with the 3G version you can actually create some interesting streaming services.

We are considering all sorts of new features for Spotify, including what devices and gadgets we can bring Spotify to. For strategic reasons we cannot however go into specifics. Sorry about this, but trust me that we are working hard towards some interesting things.

About your question regarding revenue from ads. Spotify is still in private beta, which in our case is a non-commercial but legal phase where we among other things try out various technologies and in general make sure everything work as it should. One such technology is the ad system, which means that the ads used in the private beta service are non-commercial test ads only.

True, having multiple apps for similar needs can be a bit of a pain.

We have considered adding playback of local media to Spotify's feature list, right now it's however not a top priority. Instead we are right now hard at work building and bringing to market a really great streaming service.

But who knows what the future may bring.. no promises right now though - first out for us is streaming.

Hi,

I understand that the introduction of ads is quite a change. Still, I think everyone understand and agree that the money paying for a service like Spotify needs to come from somewhere (either from ads, subscriptions, someone sponsoring the service or similar).

Looking at the case right now, we are still in private beta. Once we launch you will be able to pay to get rid of the ads, but during the private beta that is not possible.

About invites, I wish we could give out more of them, but at this time we are running a private beta service with restrictions on how many users we have.
