A comment on the idea "Google Chrome plug in" in LaterLoop:
Hi!
As far as I understand, these "plug-ins" are simply bookmarklets. LaterLoop offers a bookmarklet too, which works in Chrome (I've been using it since being converted to a loyal Chrome user). You'll find it on http://www.laterloop.com/tools/ – grex, on October 26, 2008 00:56

I'm glad you like LaterLoop despite its lack of advanced features; I wanted to keep it much simpler and stay away from a general bookmarking offering. Search has been a much-requested feature though, and although it's not as easy to implement due to some kinks in LaterLoop's underlying platform, it'll get there in the future.

I have a secret tip for you! Try http://www.laterloop.com/settings/ema... -- we're still testing it but it already runs. I'd love to get your feedback :) – grex, on September 19, 2008 16:21

Thanks for the pointer, Jigar. Imagine, Chrome + AIR... I'm quite excited. What a *fast* browser this is-- it feels as if I bought a new computer...
Do you use Twitter? We're very close to launching a new tool that's about link sharing in the context of Twitter specifically -- let me know and I'll set you up.

I'm really excited about Chrome, too -- I've been using it for two days and it's been sooo fast and nice to use.
That said, I haven't discovered or read about an extension mechanism for Chrome -- did you?
So far, I've been using the bookmarklet (grab it at www.laterloop.com/tools/)

So far, I've been using the bookmarklet (grab it at www.mento.info/share), which certainly works but I'd love to have an extension eventually, too.
A comment on the problem "Firefox Keyboard shortcuts" in LaterLoop:
Well, Mento can't change anything about the shortcuts of the delicious extension. But I know that you can manually disable the Apple+D shortcut for delicious by going into Tools > "Delicious Options...", click on the "Advanced" tab and then select "Keep the standard Firefox shortcuts" – grex, on September 02, 2008 14:56

Hm- this is beginning to look like a trend, an unpleasant one.
I still suspect that it's some sort of cookie problem. When you go into Tools > Options... > switch to the "Privacy" tab: Are the checkboxes for cookie settings are selected? (namely: accept third party cookies?) Try clicking on "Exceptions" and add www.mento.info to the list of allowed sites.
And when you're there, could you also click on "Show Cookies" and search for "mento.info". Do you see a cookie named "mxtu"? When does it expire?
Thanks so much for your patience! It's a very bizarre problem -- and I'm puzzled because we've been unable to reproduce it anywhere.

Thanks for clarifying-- I just repeated the steps you describing by opening http://m.laterloop.com/ in Firefox and it didn't have that problem. Can you confirm this? I'll keep investigating.
grex replied on August 31, 2008 21:29 to the idea "making laterloop-addon compatible with prism?" in LaterLoop:
I just tweaked the extension file so that it installs in Prism without the compatibility error, but unfortunately, it still doesn't work. Prism probably uses a different mechanism to register keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Space didn't work) and it also doesn't give access to the context menu (for right-clicking a link and saving it that way). Hm-- I had hoped to surprise you but I don't have a better answer unfortunately...

Great. Just one more question: when you go to www.mento.info/login (in a separate tab/window) and login there, does Mento still bother you to log in afterward when you want to post a link?

Hm- strange. But I'm sure we can fix this since it's working for many other users. First off, could you tell me your Mento username so that I can look things up on our end? Also: when you post the image in Skitch and you select "Copy URL to Clipboard" in Skitch, does the link work?
Lastly, please make sure that the file name that Skitch uses for the uploaded image contains no special characters (you'll see the file name at the bottom of the Skitch editing window -- try changing it something simple with only letters and numbers)
