This is the MAIN REASON I purchased your app. Because of your integration with it on the web app, I assumed that it would be in the iphone app.
I did not upgrade to Tweetie 2 because my original Tweetie App has Ping.fm and Tweetie 2 dropped support.
Your iPhone App is amazing. However having access to ping.fm or, AT THE MINIMUM linked in and FB would make your app a MUST HAVE!

No Option For Device Updates on new user.No Option For Device Updates on new user.
I just set up our friend Sarah on Twitter - http://Twitter.com/FTMSarah
She's changing her SMS plan to Unlimited and I successfully updated her cell phone information in Twitter. She's recently sent an SMS message to test and all seems to be working fine as for sending SMS to Twitter...
However, When I went to show her how to turn on notifications for the peopele whose tweets she wants sent to her phone, we ran into an issue.....
This image is me logged in as me! Here you can see that I am following Sarah and I have it set to have her tweets come to my phone:
Now when I logged in as Sarah to show her how to do this... This is what happens when she tries to turn on device updates for someone else....
Do you see how it is missing the option for "Device Updates: On Of" ?
Any thoughts?-

It is a "Web Application." An actual applciation ON THE PHONE would drop the required time to download the Ping website data all together. It would be stored in the app. Somtimes even Ping mobile takes a few seconds, as much as 15 to 20 seconds to load over edge and 3G..
Not to mention, with a Ping iPhone App, they could also introduce the abilty to attach photos to upload rather than having to email them from the iphone.
They could also introduce Location Based Services to communicate our location to services like Bright Kite and Twitter.
There are a few other features they could do with an iPhone App that CANT BE DONE with a Web App

Plurk should create a nice looking iPhone & iPod Touch Home Screen IconSo Plurk does not yet have an iPhone Application. No biggy. However, I did just add my Mobile Plurk Web App as a shortcut to my home screen on my iPhone. The only thing is, it seems to be the ONLY shortcut on my iPhone with an ugly Screen Shot of the page instead of a fancy icon.
Any chance you folks could add that little tiny graphic on your server so we can have good looking home screens?
Cliff Ravenscraft replied on July 16, 2008 16:13 to the question "Can't turn off "timeline follow"" in Plurk:
Kim,
Yes, I'm aware of the "My Friends" and the little Red / Gree "follow / unfollow" buttons. However, with 95 friends currently, if I see a person on my timeline that I don't want to be there. I may have to click through to page 8, 9, or 10 to get to the friend that I need to reset the on off switch.
It's easier for me to see someone on my timeline, click username, click follow and then click unfollow.
However, it appears as though this is a fruitless effort until they seem to fix finally fix this bug on this awesome feature idea. Until then, I'll still visit Plurk, but much less frequently. And I'll only read the most recent 5 or so plurks each time. This is a bummer, because some of my good friends, "LIKE YOU KIM," may have plurked before the last 20 or so Plurkers and I might miss out on when you are doing the laundry, fixing dinner, or something else vitally important like that. (slightly joking to lighten up the perceived mood of my posts here).
Really though, I like Plurk, but I'm finding it difficult to LIKE MORE with so much PLURK BACON in my time line.
As for the mobile page for my own timeline. THANK YOU! YOU ROCK!

Cliff Ravenscraft replied on July 16, 2008 05:47 to the question "Can't turn off "timeline follow"" in Plurk:
I am very frustrated by my time line. I have too many friends to make Plurk useful. I have chosen to only follow about 15 of them on my time line. However, every time I go to the site, I see these folks filling up my time line. I click on their profile and it has the option to follow them, as if I'm not currently doing so.
I click to follow them, then click to unfollow them. I go back to my profile and they are no longer on my time line. However, if I close my browser and then go back to Plurk, guess who's there in my time line? A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO I HAVE SET TO NOT FOLLOW ON MY TIME LINE.
It's insane! It's one thing to have no notification service. It's another thing to not allow me to see ONLY MY PLURKS on the mobile client.
But this bug of having so many people show up on my time line even though I spend as much as 5 to 10 minutes cleaning them out by going to their profiles, clicking follow and then clicking unfollow, and only to have these same people show up the next time I log in is just too darn frustrating.
I've tried to read through most of the posts in this thread. But I'm wondering if you folks think that this is a non-issue or not. What's up?-

gspn asked a question in Ping.fm on July 16, 2008 04:13:
Is there an iPhone Application planned for future release? Are you going to do an iPhone Application?
The Facebook & Twitter Applications are nice, but I still use my iPhone version of a web page to do my status updates via Ping.fm so it goes to all the social network sites.
Currently, if I want to post a picture, I have to actually email it to my ping.fm account.
I think it would be awesome if ping.fm created an iPhone application. In this application, I'd love the following features.
1) For it to track the number of characters typed as we go along (missing from the web version, as you have to click done typing to get an updated count before submitting.)
2) The ability to either snap a photo directly from the camera or choose one of the photos on the iphone already and upload it along with a status update. Much like emailing a photo to the ping.fm email service where my subject line is used for the status update.
3) I'd love it if Ping.fm would start including an option to add the "LOCATION" to update services that we use with our current location.
4) I'd also like the ability to do a shortened URL for links
5) I'd also like to be able to browse my most recent Ping.fm updates.
This would be a good start for an awesome application.-
