I think I'm having the same problem. Every setting I try, with livejournal, Zemanta sidebar comes up and just says "Loading Zemanta..." forever.

I haven't tried it on any other platform.

(I'm trying this during Andraz' talk at the PAWS.)

I think that would indeed be a great value-add to Semagic if its authors would want Zemanta included.

We are aware of this problem.

If the error appears again just click no. Than right click anywhere on Zemanta plugin and choose reload. Plugin will reload and error should not appear.

Hmmm....I'm embarassed to say this appears to have beet a self-inflicted wound. I cleared out temporary files while the WLW installer was running. Running a repair install on first WLW and then the Zemanta WLW plug-in appears to have made everything better.

Too bad the "on-web" update plug-in for LJ isn't behaving--but I used to use Semagic all the time, anyway. I'll see if I can make the switch to Live Writer.

I know that Semagic is extensible, and I think it still has a pretty large userbase...perhaps writing a Zemanta "pane" for Semagic users is possible. [If WLW is any good, though, I may switch from Semagic]. – Pete Thomas, on September 22, 2008 13:15

Can you go to about:config in firefox, find zemanta api_key, reset the value so it's empty and restart the firefox. Then it might start working.

I get the whole sidebar, and can manually stimulate it to attempt to retrieve suggestions, or type until it tries on its own. So that client-side part of things seems to be working fine [detection that I'm on an update or edit page, presentation of the initial Zemanta sidebar, and detection of keystrokes and button presses]. The problem is that once triggered, the "Zemification" never completes--the little spinner just spins forever telling me that it is retrieving suggestions.

How badly are we failing? Do you get a gray box, a whole sidebar or nothing at all?

I really, really want in to work....except right now it isn't for me. Based on the error logs, I'm wondering if it's some sort of CSS conflict?
