A comment on the problem "Ctrl + Space no longer opens command window in Ubiquity! (0.5.3)" in Mozilla:
The issue with XML errors will be fixed in the next pre-release and definitely for the 0.5.4 release. There is not an easy way to change back to the English localization, but the French version shouldn't throw errors anymore. – Heather, on August 13, 2009 21:00

Yonkeltron, have you installed the 0.5.4 beta? That fixes the issue in 3.0.x as far as I know. You can get it here: https://ubiquity.mozilla.com/xpi/ubiquity-latest-beta.xpi.
If anyone who has installed the beta (or 0.5.4) and is NOT using the Menu Editor addon, please follow up to let us know it's not fixed.

We have fixed this issue for Ubiquity 0.5.4, which will be released this week. You can get the latest beta (https://ubiquity.mozilla.com/xpi/ubiquity-latest-beta.xpi) to test if it has fixed the issue for you.

This is actually a very frequently requested feature. Right now there's no way to change the default, you have to specify "to english" like Mitcho says.
I added this trac ticket for the feature.

Oh, good catch! I had reported the second part, but not made the connection that it was related to the new suggestion memory.

For people using 3.0.x versions of Firefox, this is a known issue. Ubiquity 0.5.x is not officially supported in Firefox 3.0, so we encourage you to upgrade Firefox to 3.5 or downgrade Ubiquity to 0.1.9.
We are still looking in to what is causing this problem on 0.5.2 and 0.5.3 with Firefox 3.5.

Heather replied on August 08, 2009 17:42 to the question "why gcalculate is the default for "g"?" in Mozilla:
Ubiquity is alpha software in active development, so at the moment the default is changing frequently as the developers work to make Ubiquity better.
There is a new version, Ubiquity 0.5.2, that introduces suggestion memory for the verbs you use frequently. This means that if you use "google" most frequently, google should start being the top result for "g". I encourage you to download it here and try it out. (Ubiquity 0.5.1 should auto update, but if you have 0.5.1pre4, there is a known issue with the auto update we are also working on.)
shil88, I'm not sure what you mean by "has the functionalities of the awesome bar". I don't know of a feature that does that that has ever been built into Ubiquity, but you may have had a third party command that did that.
