There is certainly one shortcoming with the current implementations; I am referring to the fact that when your friends post outside of a framework circle, it doesn't show in your main 'my circles' feed . We'll address that problem shortly.

Did you notice the new smart menu (right-hand column of 'my circles')? When we split the content feed into multiple tabs we also deployed this smart menu that summarizes the activity of 'my circles' and 'my friends'. So right from your main feed you are exposed to activities taking place in other friends' circles.

We need to keep the rules very explicit and straightforward because users should not be left wondering why a circle they never subscribed to is suddenly showing up.

One way to go about it is to expose more information about your friends circles from the sneak peek provided in the smart menu (or more inline actions, like subscribing to a friend's circle straight from the menu to take inspiration from your other idea?). Would that improve your experience?

There are certainly benefits in exposing circle functionality inline (better usability, also makes the circles subscription model self-explanatory). Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, there are quite a few multilingual conversations. An inline translation service may ultimately make sense but even with our international traffic it is a little too ahead of the curve, as Yokway is still in beta.

For now if you come across another comment in french that you cannot live without, the ever-reliable cut-and-paste should make an acceptable crutch :)
