Carousel downloads RSS data every 15 minutes, so updates should not be taking hours. Do you have a proxy server in the mix? For more detail please read JJ's post on troubleshoot RSS bulletins.

Hello Paul,
The reason the Clock bulletin is not adjusting is, as the SOLE bulletin in a zone, it's displayed continuously without update. This characteristic is inherent of Clock bulletins only and we need to change that behavior. As a temporary workaround, stopping and restarting the Display Engine after the crawl is introduced will force an update.
I have created case #3837 for this issue and will update this string when we have a solution.

Do you have bulletins playing video files in your rotation? We Just resolved an issue in Carousel 5.2.4 were zones were getting stuck on black after video files got hung up the DisplayEngine (3698). I would suggest upgrading to the latest version of Carousel and if that does not resolve your issue, you should fill out a Trouble Ticket with our support team.
