A comment on the update "Facebook login broken - fix in progress" in Flock:
Katherine -
I have the same OS and Flock version as you. I followed Karl-Petter Åkesson's steps found in Justin's thread (listed in previous comment), and my problem was solved. I now make a copy of my database (flock-data.sqlite) for backup once a week or so - just in case. Also - I updated my facebook account with a unique url as well.
At any rate - things are ok with me and flock right now.

A comment on the update "YouTube Login Issue - Solved" in Flock:
I no longer have this issue. I had thought I had a corrupt database, so I renamed the old one and started over. That's when I started getting the YouTube issues. But now that I've found the solution in using my old database, everything is back to normal. Here's where I found the database solution - http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi...
I followed Karl-Petter Åkesson's advice and it worked. – jeremiahjobe, on June 07, 2009 23:43

thank you. I did exactly as you said and I'm back to where I was earlier this morning. This also fixed another issue I had with YouTube and the sidebar/accounts. – jeremiahjobe, on June 07, 2009 23:40

I decided to forget about this and not care - I mean, after all I could still get to my gmail and its not like this was that big of a deal. At any rate - my webmail seems to be updating now. I can't tell if this is regularly or only sporadic, but it seems to work some of the time. When I click on "Check Now," nothing happens - but at least things are improving.
So what changed?
The only thing I changed is that I am now running OS 10.5.7. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. Maybe this was a 10.5.6 issue or maybe something changed with the gmail servers? Anyway -

I agree that the issues are weird, but I've experienced several issues with applications that only happen on certain computer models and operating systems. Do you have the exact setup that I do (e.g. OS, Flock version, gmail settings)? – jeremiahjobe, on May 16, 2009 14:03

I am experiencing issue #3.
I have tried logging out of gmail and logging back in via the button drop down and the accounts and services sidebar - neither resolve the issue. This is repeatable with the same results every time.
I have also tried the forget account approach and now my account shows 0 messages and does not update. It hasn't since I reinitialized the account. This is repeatable with the same results every time even if I restart Flock and the computer.
I have not tried uninstall/reinstall, but maybe I wont have to...
Possibly useful information:
OS: Mac OS 10.5.6
Flock Version: 2.0.3
Gmail in standard mode with snippets set to "show snippets"
Thanks -

jeremiahjobe shared an idea in Flock on May 11, 2009 03:08:
seed newsvine and newsvine accountI suggest a seed newsvine button in the location bar(next to Digg and Email Link buttons) as an option if you have a newsvine account - also a way to add a newsvine account in the accounts and services section. Would this be toohard to add?

I love TransmitThank you so very much for transmit. I had used Fetch for years and it was a good program - until I was introduced to Transmit. I love the app - it's great - thank you.
When we need to upload something at work (multiple times a day), my friend always asks if we're going to use the "dump truck program," and I always say - "hell yeah we're using it."
jeremiahjobe asked a question in Adobe on December 23, 2008 05:32:
Why is it so insanely overpriced to upgrade from Adobe CS4 Design Premium to Adobe CS4 Master Collection? Here's the info:
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, Web Standard, or Production Premium: upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection is 1,599 USD.
Here's the craziness:
Adobe CS4 Design Premium costs 1,799 USD for the Full Retail Version
Adobe CS4 Master Collection costs 2,499 USD for the Full Retail Version
that's a difference of 700 USD; however, it costs 1,599 USD to upgrade?
am I missing something? and why would Adobe CS4 Web Standard, costing 999 USD, cost the same to upgrade as Design Premium?
As far as I can tell - if you give Adobe more money, then you get a worse deal.
Seriously - can an employee from Adobe explain this insanity? Why wouldn't the upgrade be the difference in cost? And finally, who came up with this pricing plan?
A comment on the question "Hi, I am an at&t U-Verse Rep. If you have any questions please ask." in AT&T:
Linear Pulse Code Modulated (PCM) Audio is a lossless encoding scheme (usually stereo, but not always). It's the same one used for CD Audio - except in your case with U-Verse you're getting 48,000 samples per second vs. 44,100 samples per second offered with CD Audio (48k vs 44.1k). The sample rate determines frequency of encoded audio. Dolby Digital is a lossy encoding scheme that can offer up to 6 discreet channels. In your case with Dish, you're getting 3 front channels, 2 surround channels and 1 sub (Low Frequency Effect or LFE) channel; hence, 3/2.1. Both audio formats (PCM and Dolby Digital) are digital, so I'm not sure what changing the audio output to bitstream will accomplish. I know my service (cable) changes depending on channel; but if you're watching the same channel on both inputs, my guess is that Dish transmits MPEG2 or 4 with AC3 (Dolby Digital) embedded audio while U-Verse sends MPEG4 with embedded PCM audio for stereo content and AC3 for 5.1 content. The reason to do this is that AC3 (Dolby Digital) takes less bandwidth, so Dish can send all their audio as a compressed format and save bandwidth (PCM Audio is HUGE compared to AC3). Also note that just because something is delivered in AC3 or Dolby Digital doesn't mean that it's true 5.1 surround sound. Even if audio is coming out of all your speakers it's possible that you're getting a pseudo 5.1 that was encoded into 5.1 AC3 by the provider not because it was in the original broadcast. - hope this helps; although, I'm not sure what's actually going on with your services. – jeremiahjobe, on December 23, 2008 04:20
