jeremy replied on December 20, 2009 17:51 to the question "What is the best way to change over to a new domain name?" in Yola:
Hi there Guido,
Emmy isn't online at the moment but possibly I can help you...
Yes, by changing your domain you will have to change your Analytics settings.
Configuring your domains the way you have should work but you can also assign domains another way.
If you have purchased more than one domain on Yola or purchased from another domain registrar and pointed it to Yola, you can easily assign (publish) these domains to one of your sites by accessing the Advanced Domain Settings. Here's how:
1. Login to your account on Yola.
2. On the My Sites page, scroll to the bottom and check the box next to "Enable Advanced Domain Settings".
3. Scroll back up to the top and click on the link "Advanced Domain Settings".
4. A new page will open
* If you would like to publish to a domain bought externally, click on [Add a domain that I already own] and you will be able to assign it to the particular site.
* If you bought the domain from Yola, it will already be listed on the page and you will be able to click on the drop-down menu to assign it to a different site.
6. Click on "Click to apply changes".
By assigning a domain as "Primary Domain", this will be the canonical (primary) domain and the one the other domains will redirect to.
(Note: You will have to configure your domains to point to Yola first though)
I hope this helps.

Hi there M. Bernard,
Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately we were caught completely unawares by Vimeo when they pulled all our content. They flagged it as "Commercial" and as such, a breach of their terms so we had to remove it all. As you can imagine we had to scramble to get it back up ASAP.
We decided to go with Blip.tv to host the videos and unfortunately it will not process the SEO video at the moment - I am in talks with them to get it into a easier format at present.
We hope to have it up and running in a better format soon.
You will also have noticed the thumbnails are a bit out of alignment... those are also being worked on at the moment.
I am sorry for the inconvenience but we are slowly getting Yola.tv back up to standard.

jeremy replied on December 17, 2009 12:14 to the question "the maximum number of pages?" in Yola:
Hi there Myjunk172,
There is no maximum number of pages you can have on your Yola site.
You may have noticed that certain limits apply to Yola Free and Yola Pro accounts. These limits relate to:
1. The total storage for your site. (1GIG for Yola Free and 5GIG for Yola Pro)
2. The limit on the file size on individual file uploads. (15MB for Yola Free and 100MB for Yola Pro)
3. The limit on the number of sites per account. (5 sites for Yola Free and 25 sites for Yola Pro)
However, we do not limit the number of pages you can add to each site.
I hope this helps.

jeremy replied on December 16, 2009 04:56 to the question "How can I temporarily take my site completely off the web?" in Yola:
Hi there Aubrey,
You can ubpublish your site as follows:
1. Click on the down-arrow next to the yellow "Update My Site" button.
2. Click on "Publishing settings".
3. Click on "Unpublish your Site".
You will be asked to confirm that you wish to unpublish your site. Click on "OK" and your site will be unpublished.
Please note:
If you unpublish your Yolasite subdomain site, your domain will be released which means that anyone else can take it and use it for their site. However, your unpublished site will always be accessible in the Site Builder for you to edit or republish to another address.
If you would like to unpublish, but keep the Yolate subdomain, here is the suggested workaround:
1. Create a new site with a blank page, or a message notifying visitors that your site will be back soon
2. Unpublish the site you would like to temporarily disable.
3. Publish the new site to your domain.
4. Reverse the process when you would like your site to be published again.
I hope this helps.

jeremy replied on December 07, 2009 11:46 to the question "How much should companies pay to advertise on your site?" in Yola:
Hi there Chuck,
The amount you would charge people to advertise on your site would be linked to how many unique visitors you get on your site. Obviously the more unique visitors, the more you can charge.
Unfortunately I can't give you an amount you could charge for advertising on your site but a way you could work it out is by working out the number of impressions the Advertisement would get (the number of times it would be shown which would be the number of visits your site gets) and then give it a CPM (Cost per Thousand).
I believe smaller websites have a CPM of about $2-$5 so for every thousand impressions the user would pay say $2. So if you got 10000 visits a month you would charge $20 a month for the advert.
This amount varies site by site and topic but it is a handy way of working out your advertising cost. If you think your site is worth a bit more you could charge $5-10 or more... per 1000. It is really up to you.
I hope this helps as a way to work out how much you can charge. Maybe one of our other users can assist you further.

Hi there Yola_User_A
It is there for people who don't want to host their sites with Yola.
You can download your site as a zip file and upload it to another PHP enabled web server
There is more detail on it here: Download your Site and Host it Elsewhere
I hope this helps.
A comment on the question "entire website got small, dancing photos, dancing tabs." in Yola:
Hi John,
I checked your page and there is still code on it - this often happens when you have text added from outside. I would suggest deleting the widget completely and see if this helps at all. Again, if you have no luck with this, please let me know. – jeremy, on December 03, 2009 12:43
jeremy replied on December 03, 2009 05:17 to the question "entire website got small, dancing photos, dancing tabs." in Yola:
Hi there John,
Is there anything that you have added recently to your page after which it started jumping?
I see you have some text added on your door-installation-rates page form another source...
Could you please try removing this and adding it to a program like notepad to strip any unwanted formatting from it and then re-adding it to your page.
This might help with your jumping.
As to the size are all your windows displaying smaller or just Yola?

jeremy replied on December 02, 2009 05:28 to the question "Increasing styles width" in Yola:
Hi there Adam,
Unfortunately you can't change the width of a particular style, as it is fixed. My only suggestion is that you try a different style to see which one best suits your needs.
We have a handy Style Guide here http://www.yola.com/yola-style-guide that may help you.
jeremy replied on December 02, 2009 04:02 to the question "Options purchasing Yola Pro?!" in Yola:
Hi there Donald,
If you purchase Yola pro you can request a refund for the amount you previously paid for your footer.
Yola Pro would remain the same price but you would get your footer purchase refunded if approved.
If you would like to do this, please email us at support@yola.com.
