It's all been said already I'm sure. I certainly don't have time to read all the other comments but to reply directly to what you said in your comment:

Ping.fm *IS* my cloud solution. It works perfectly and does everything I need. If its possible to support it in tweetie then I will literally never need anything else for my status needs. All the other 'cloud' solutions I've tried end up failing at various points of contact, and Ping.fm is the smoothest I've found. Support for it is 100% more important to me than url shortening apis, of which you support several.

Bring it back! Add it to the desktop app only for paid customers and you will sell AT LEAST one more copy, to this guy!

Need "Private time" mode/activity so it can be logged as -2 without recording specific sites/apps
I'm finding I do things I don't want recorded that 100% coincide with -2 levels of unproductivity. Right now I have to use the 'pause for 1 hour' menu item in order to not have RT record the sites/files used, but that effectively marks the time as a ranking of 0, whereas because its work hours I'd rather by shamed by the effects of -2.

It seems to me a menu item called 'Private Time" would solve this perfectly. When selected RescueTime could stop logging websites/apps/files but still keep track of how much time was spent "Privately". Then in the website UI people could define how productive their 'private time' is (I think we can assume the cumulative average would be -2).

I think it also makes sense insofar as it would mirror the 'private modes' of browsers like Safari and Firefox (and of course, it would mitigate the problems associated with you guys not accounting for those private modes) .

If there's a way to achieve this effect without the new feature I'm very interested in it. Thanks!

+1 for this, and for Private Browsing in Firefox. It would be great if RT logged private modes as one big block that could be rated collectively. I want to carefully track the time I spend in Private Browsing, but definitely don't want the urls or site title's logged.

jeremyclarke replied on February 12, 2009 20:34 to the question "too many downloads!!!" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):

    jeremyclarke
When I look at the download settings all I see is the ability to limit the total number of manual and auto downloads (which doesn't affect current downloads) and the ability to limit up and downstream speeds for Bittorrent.

This means that if even a few of the videos downloading are HTTP they will take up as much speed as they can until my connection is completely saturated and I can't browse anything on the web. This could happen even with just one HTTP video in theory.

There really needs to be a global bandwidth cap that people can set to affect all downloads and it needs to take action immediately after being set. Sure people can change their settings for max downloads, but that doesn't help them right now when they have a problem, and it might not even help if they quit Miro and start it up later. This is the kind of problem that loses users for life.
