Hi,
Whrrl is planning international expansion in the future. However, at the moment users are not able to use Whrrl outside the U.S. If you send your email address to feedback@whrrl.com, we would be happy to contact you when this becomes available.

Joni replied on January 20, 2009 23:45 to the problem "Blackberry Curve location updating problems" in Whrrl:
Our current J2ME client does not use GPS for a location fix, however we are working with major carriers for future implementation of GPS technology. Our iPhone app does use GPS for G3 phones.
The 'report my location' link should take you to a results>search screen by design. Scrolling to the right (called a twist) will allow you to enter an address and search for your location. Once found, you can choose the "I'm here" link to share your location.
You can also enter your location using the 'move map' feature. Choose 'map' from the home screen and press the Blackberry menu key (to the left of the scroll). Enter your address and choose "I'm here" to share.
Please let us know if you have any further questions. We also have an FAQ page located at http://faq.whrrl.com/.

Joni replied on November 03, 2008 22:37 to the question "too many contacts crash whrrl?" in Whrrl:
Hi Martin,
Thanks for writing in with your question. What version of Whrrl are you using? If you haven't upgraded to 1.5.1, this may solve some of the issue. Also, does the app crash on start up? Or when you try to invite friends?
Please feel free to respond to feedback@whrrl.com if that's easier.
We look forward to your response and to learning more about this issue.

Joni replied on July 30, 2008 22:54 to the question "what's up with lists?" in Whrrl:
There are two types of lists in Whrrl. People lists and Place lists.
People Lists:
Creating custom people lists allows you to categorize and organize your friends based on their individual tastes, e.g. "foodie friends" or "music lovers”. Using the 'What's on My Map' feature on the left side of the map, you can choose those lists from the ‘According to’ drop-down menu. This allows you to view the map according to the reviews and opinions of just the people on your custom list.
The "People Who Can See My Location" is a default list that keeps track of those friends who are allowed to see where you check in and say, "I'm here!".
Place Lists:
"Want to Go" is a default list that keeps track of all the places you want to go to. You can add places to this list by choosing the "I want to go" button on a place detail page.
"Been To" is another default list that keeps track of all the place you have been to. Places automatically get added to this list when you check in and say "I'm here" at a specific location.
All lists can be managed through the 'my lists' link on the 'me' menu. See attached screen shots.

Joni replied on July 24, 2008 21:45 to the question "How to manually set your location on iPhone" in Whrrl:
Our latest update in the App store should fix the location finding problem. Please download the upgrade when you get a chance. To manually set your location, tap the location finder in the upper left corner of the Whrrl iPhone screen. Enter an address and the map will reconfigure.

Joni replied on July 24, 2008 21:37 to the question "Whrrl works anywhere in the U.S." in Whrrl:
As we recently announced, Whrrl is planning international expansion in the future. At the moment, we do not have data for cities outside the U.S. E-mail us at feedback@whrrl.com with the city you would like us to add and we will contact you when this feature is available.
The Whrrl map has places throughout the United States including Hawaii and Alaska. We've gathered detailed information about places and events in the metro areas of Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Whrrl works in other cities too, but we may not have detailed information like business hours or cuisine type. We're constantly working on adding information in new cities, so if you don't live in one of the areas listed above, yours may be coming soon!

Whrrl works anywhere in the U.S.@decryption Does Whrrl work in Australia or internationally?
Joni replied on July 23, 2008 20:55 to the question "How to add friends" in Whrrl:
We make it easy to add friends in Whrrl by importing them from your e-mail contacts. To start, go to the Friends tab. On the lower left-hand side, you'll see the option to import friends from Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or AOL. Choose one of these e-mail providers and enter the username and password for the appropriate account in the fields provided. Whrrl will search your contacts and show you all of your friends who already have accounts on Whrrl. You will have the option to send friend requests to any or all of them. Then you will have the option to send invitations to your friends who are not on Whrrl.
Thanks!
