Could you find it in your hearts to be so kind as to implement Global Hotkeys? :)

I'm a relatively new Mac user, and just discovered Songbird. It's _this_ close to being a satisfying alternative to foobar2000. You've got FLAC support, ReplayGain, a good "shuffle" implementation, a neat playlist system, and loads of stuff I may never even need.

Now the only thing I sorely miss is being able to control music playback without having to switch windows and hunt down icons with the mouse. It's just a silly amount of extra work.

Useful actions for global hotkeys include: Play/Pause, Stop, Previous, Next, Volume Up/Down, Seek 5 seconds back/forward (really lovely!), and maybe "Play Random Track". With foobar2000, I had all of these bound to Alt-Gr + keys-that-are-under-my-right-hand-when-typing-anyway, and I used them all the time.
