Hi Jack/Ian,
Can you try two different things for me?
1a) Please send me your compreg.dat file. This can be found in your profile directory (see http://flock.com/faq/show/64#q_387 for more info).
1b) Remove this file.
1c) Restart Flock and see if the problem continues to exist.
1d) Send me the recreated compreg.dat file from your profile directory. Please send it to my first name at flock.com.
2a) Backup your profile directory (see http://flock.com/faq/show/64#q_61799 for more info).
2b) Remove your profile directory.
2c) Uninstall the Flock application.
2d) Install a fresh Flock 2.5.
2e) See if the problem continues to exist.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully this additional information will help us get to the bottom of this problem. Thanks in advance!

Hans-Göran/Patrick,
Please keep in mind that we're a very small team and we need to balance new features with maintenance work. Accordingly, new features we do implement must provide the best "bang for the buck".
We would love to add every suggestion and idea right now but we simply cannot. I hope you understand and thank you for your continued patience.

Hi Jamie,
Try clearing your Authenticated Sessions and Cache. These two settings are accessible via Tools | Options on Windows (Preferences... on Mac) and switch to the Privacy tab. In the Private Data section of the dialog, press the Clear Now... button. You may need to restart Flock as well.
If this doesn't address your issue, we'll need to dig a little deeper.

A comment on the problem "Photo Uploader account" in Flock:
Hi Sparkle Chi,
I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated. Please keep in mind, services Flock integrates with can and will change at any time. This usually happens without any prior warning given to us and we need to play catch up. Such is the case with Photobucket.
First, let's make sure you're using the latest service update. Please type "about:webdetective" (with the colon but without the quotes) in the url bar. Find the photobucket line and just after "photobucket.xml" there should be a revision number. This number should be rev 21713. If it's a lower number you're not using the latest service file and need to force an update. To force an update, please perform the following steps:
1. Forget the account. You can do this by opening the Accounts and Services sidebar, and clicking on the "Forget account" link underneath the desired service.
2. Force the service update. To do this,
For Windows:
Go to Tools >> Options >> Advanced >> Update, and click on the "Force Service Update" button.
For Mac:
Go to Flock >> Preferences... >> Advanced >> Update, and click on the "Force Service Update" button.
3. Restart Flock. This is important for the update to take effect.
4. Go to the site of the desired service and re-configure the account.
If this still does not fix the issue, we will need to dig a little deeper to resolve your problem.
I also hope that you will give the other features of Flock a try as it will make your social networking life a lot simpler.

Kevin/Peter,
Are you still experiencing this problem? The fix was available as of Monday. If Flock hasn't automatically updated for you yet, then please try forcing an update and restarting Flock.

A comment on the problem "webmail checker status problem" in Flock:
Hi Mark,
What version of Flock are you running? 2.0.3? You can find this out by typing "about:" (with the colon but without the quotes) in the URL bar. Also, what service revision are you using? Type "about:webdetective" in the URL bar. Look for the gmail line and just after "gmail.xml" you should see a revision number. You should be using rev 21376.

A comment on the problem "webmail checker status problem" in Flock:
Hi Mark,
In Gmail, are you only showing 1) the subject line or 2) the subject line AND part of the message body (message snippet)? If it's (1), this is a known issue which we hope to address for the next release. In the meantime, read http://getsatisfaction.com/flock/topi... for a workaround.
If you are already showing message snippets, then we will need to dig a little deeper into the problem.

A comment on the problem "issues adding yahoo mail back into flock" in Flock:
Hi Kevin,
Yes, I have received the Jing screencast you sent me and thank you for your extensive investigation!
The short answer is that from the screencast I have been able to deduce that Yahoo Mail _has_ changed their code in the new view. Part of the problem is that this change seems to only have affected certain accounts as we are still not able to reproduce this problem on our test accounts. This explains why we haven't seen this issue until now.
Rest assured that a fix will be forthcoming as early as next week. Thank you for your continued patience on this matter. We're a small but busy crew. :)

detours/Kevin,
Unfortunately, we're not able to reproduce the issue you are seeing, which obviously, makes it difficult to fix. One thing you can try is to record a screencast of the problem using Jing. If you're willing to give it a shot, go to http://www.jingproject.com. You can send it to me directly at my firstname at flock dot com.

detours,
Can you type "about:webdetective" (with the colon but without the quotes" in the URL bar? Look for the yahoomail entry in the list. You should be at revision 21403. If not, you're not using the most up to date service file.
Have you also tried forgetting and reconfiguring the account? Go to the Accounts & Services Sidebar and find the Yahoo Mail configured account in the top half of the sidebar. Click the "Forget Account" link. Now go to the Yahoo Mail login page and log in again. Flock should prompt you to remember the password AND remember the account. If this doesn't address the issue, we will need to dig a little deeper. Hope this solves your issue.

Hi Kevin!
You may need to force a service update. Go to Tools | Options... (or Preferences... on Mac) and click on the Advanced view. Click on the Update tab in this dialog and click the Force Service Updates button. Once this is finished, restart the browser. This should address the issue you're seeing. I hope this helps!

Justin replied on February 17, 2009 18:08 to the question "gmail account not recognized" in Flock:
Hi interfaced,
Ok, I'm going to assume you mean 2.0.3. Next, can you check the service version? To do this, type "about:webdetective" (with the colon but without the quotes) in the url bar at the top. Look for the gmail entry in the list and copy and paste it in your reply.
Has this ever worked for you before or is it only happening recently?
Can you check to make sure that the account hasn't already been configured? Go to the Accounts & Services Sidebar. In the upper portion of this sidebar, ensure there is no Gmail entry in the list. If there is, click the Forget Account link and try logging in again.

Hi Bennett!
Flock currently only supports Gmail. We hope to support Google Apps in a future version though. Please visit https://bugzilla.flock.com/show_bug.c... if you wish to keep tabs on the issue.
I hope this helps.

A comment on the question "I want to see e-mail in Flock" in Flock:
Hi Larry,
Please don't misunderstand my comment. It's not that we don't care, but we are a very small team and it takes time to integrate a service. Furthermore, if the particular service in question does not have a usable API (application programming interface) we can use, then there's not much we can do to integrate with the service. With this in mind, we need to pick and choose a service with the most bang for the buck, hence, integrating with the "big three cookie cutter email services". I hope this clarifies the comment.

@iamhausfrau:
- Your username is just the first part of your email address (everything before the @ symbol).
- Your confirmation of the different query strings confirm a suspicion I had with the Typepad code I was reviewing. Thanks.
- When performing the update as per Chris's steps, did you also try forgetting the account again?

Hi stuartmlambert!
Sorry, I didn't respond earlier.
Have you tried forgetting the account from the Accounts & Services Sidebar since you performed the update? If the problem continues to persist, can you provide a screencast using Jing and send me the url? You can send it to my email at my first name at flock dot com. You can find Jing here: http://www.jingproject.com/.
