kazemizuhi replied on April 17, 2009 21:12 to the problem "wrongly added a number to genre tag" in Songbird:
As MojoYugen and Steve Montgomery have noted, the real culprit here is LyricMaster. I cannot understand why modern day applications still use ID3v1. Since all the major media players (Winamp, MediaMonkey, Songbird, iTunes, etc.) will read ID3v2 there is no apparent reason to use dated tagging techniques such as ID3v1 which cause issues like the one we see here.
With LyricMaster having a few issues that the author could not address immediately, 3 months ago he posted the source code at Google Code for the community to contribute to. If there is anyone here who is capable of altering LyricMaster to solve this issue the code is here:

kazemizuhi replied on April 15, 2009 01:16 to the question "Tracks simply won't delete" in Songbird:
Do you mean to say that the files are still on your hard-drive? As is my understanding Songbird only deletes items from it's library. Deleting tracks from your hard-drive will have to be done manually.
If you mean to say that you cannot remove them from your library within Songbird itself, then this is beyond me and I would suggest submiting a bug report.

kazemizuhi replied on April 15, 2009 00:56 to the problem "Shuffle feature not shuffling very well." in Songbird:
I am not entirely sure, but is not the feature you want called randomize? From my understanding (having used different music players and what not) shuffle does exactly that: it shuffles the order of tracks whenever a song has finished playing with no regard as to whether it will be replaying songs over and over.
Randomize on the other hand, randomizes the order once at the beginning and maintains this order until all tracks on the list are played. Depending on the application it will either continue to maintain this track order on subsequent play throughs of the list or randomize it again after all tracks are played.
Assuming it is randomize that you want, then yes I too wish for this basic feature to be implemented. It should be easy to implement as all they have to do is alter the current shuffle feature to only 'shuffle' the tracks once only until the user clicks the button again. Then asign this new feature to a button labeled randomize.
Edit: In Songbird when the tracks are shuffled, they are also visually shuffled on the Now Playing pane. This is to say, the tracks' positions are physically moved on the list. This causes some minor screen flicker similar to when the page is refreshed à la pressing 'ctrl+r'. Since the list is shuffled at the end of every track, this quickly becomes quite irritating. As I recall, other music applications do this shuffling in the background and appear to randomly jump from one track to another from the end-users perspective. I prefer the 'background' method as it serves no purpose in my opinion to visually 'see' the shuffling. A novel curiosity that has wore it's welcome.-
