Ken Ouderkirk replied on November 30, 2009 16:44 to the question "When can we expect a compatibility with Black Rapid R-Strap" in Trek-Tech:
SOON!
I have been in contact with Tyler (who is in charge of Black Rapid R&D) and we are on version 2.0 of the adaptor. The first verision made it to production, but Tyler wasn't happy with the durability.
He is fast at work making the adjustments and we should be ready to go in early 2010 (Feb-Mar) Be sure to add your email to the Trek-Tech and / or Black Rapid mailing list and you will be among the first notified of it's arrival.

Ken Ouderkirk replied on October 05, 2009 03:49 to the question "Maintaining my TrekPod...?" in Trek-Tech:
Great question Joan! The TrekPod is made of aircraft grade aluminum...with that being said, there aren't many things that are tougher on metal than salt water. Give the TrekPod a good rinse with fresh water after a day at the beach and allow it to dry and you will be fine.
Remember that your TrekPod GO! Pro has a life time guarantee head to toe. We would be more than happy to replace any trouble spots if
any rust or corrosion does come up.

Ken Ouderkirk replied on September 21, 2009 22:48 to the question "On the Trek-Tech Go Pro, how do you secure or release the tripod legs?" in Trek-Tech:
Hi Dave,
We still use the velcro strap...it is the best solution we have when combining the need for light, strong, and replacable.
If you are using your GO! PRO to the point that the velcro is wearing out...two things....#1 awesome! and #2 contact our office and we will get a new strap out to you. Your TrekPod GO! PRO has a lifetime warrantly head to toe.

Ken Ouderkirk replied on September 21, 2009 22:39 to the question "Anti-slip replaceable tips?" in Trek-Tech:
All TrekPod models have indoor/outdoor replaceable tips made out of hard rubber.
Of course it depends what type of hiking you are doing. For instance, if you know you will be trekking in an area where you going to have to dig in, then you may want to use a specialty trekking pole with the metal tips.
A nice feature of our TrekPods is that you can use it for something as simple as shooting a video of your kids playing volleyball in a gym and as exotic as trekking up to Machu Picchu (our tips are allowed and metal tips are not.)
