I totally dig this idea. However, I make large format wireframes/prototypes (like, average canvas size for me is often easily beyond 11x17 paper, if printed at full size... + annotations?).
As a result, and maybe a worst case scenario, I am mistrustful of anything that promises to print my stuff-- what I've found works well is exporting things to PDF for printing & sharing.
So, if it's okay to do so here, I'd like to tack on an "Export as PDF" or "Save as PDF" idea for us large format folks. This may be a default option during the print function anyway if you have Acrobat... but just wanted to bring it up.-

Dashed linesI would like to be able to apply a dashed line property to some objects (like the rule bars) as well as change the color.
Dashed lines are a great indicator when something is a placeholder, and help show a "tear off" kind of effect in wireframing.
(It'd be nice to have this for any and all shapes too... :)

I *think* I may have a similar need... since I want CardStacks and images/icons to be able to communicate via conditional events.
=====================================
Example use case:
I'm creating a carousel type of display. To some extent, I can do this using the CardStack. However, the CardStack control only gets me so far.
The way a carousel works, you often have arrow type < and > controls that page through each of the items until you reach either the beginning or the end of the objects it contains.
I want to add functionality that allows a second click of the < or > arrow to push the contents into a loop if they have reached either end of the strip.
So at the end, pushing > means return to CardStack index 1.
At the beginning, pushing < means going back to the end.
I can't figure out how to do this with the existing events and controls, though I have tried. =) What I suspect I need is to be able to place more conditional events on the CardStack... so that it picks up on the indexing of the cards and lets me work specifically with that.-

Visible Names for CardStacksWhen I have nested card stacks, it becomes difficult to tell which one I am accessing as I flip through the tabs. (ex. I get disoriented because I thought something was on tab 1 when I'm really viewing tab 3 of the other card stack, or I wind up selecting and moving something I didn't intend to move.)
It would be helpful if the name of the selected cardstack were visible somewhere, so I knew which was the outer and which was the inner...

Export to HTMLI would really love to see an export format that will work in a browser, that doesn't require users to access the FlairBuilder viewer. Even if it means a bit more work on the designer's part (like keeping a collection of HTML files, worrying at paths, etc.)-- that's part & parcel of a v.1 html export, eh?
Similar to this request I need something that is easy to zip up and show clients who may be viewing it with high-security trepidation. A SWF export, or a SWF and HTML export option would be outstanding.
========================================================
Example use case / workflow... ;-)
The trouble I have when putting any project into FlairBuilder is wondering how I'm going to present it or get it back OUT, since taking a lot of screenshots or exporting every snapshot defeats the beauty of its interactive approach.
- In order to usability test or present the material and keep lag time to a minimum, I need to send the presentation to remote clients (who then webex as we walk through a test or demo together). This means it needs to run in their environment, and they must be willing to open it without hesitation or too much explanation/reassurance from me.
- My clients are unfamiliar w/flairbuilder as of yet (not running Air/flex on their desktops), and are working in high security environments. They are hesitant, unwilling, or unable to experiment with something that is an unknown variable.

kleinline asked a question in FlairBuilder on December 12, 2009 01:17:
Can checkboxes recognize state someday soon?I would really like it if checkboxes could toggle other elements consistently.
I want to set a default state for my checkbox. I then want to set an event or series of events ON or OFF based on the state of the checkbox (like having a cardstack show based on the checkbox-- or in the future, have some hidden thing suddenly appear when the checkbox is checked or unchecked) . :)

Timed eventsSimilar to this request, I'm wishing for a transfer or progress indicator. But in conjunction with that I really wish I could apply a timed event to it. (i.e., after something theoretically "loads" another event gets kicked off.)
Whether it's a "loading" component with optional animation, or a new generic event that allows me to attach a timed delay (my fav)-- this would open the door for a lot of nice possibilities.-

Auto-fill Events from ComboBox labelsI often find myself copy & pasting ComboBox contents into the events panel so that I can get the spelling just right. (There's nothing sillier than trying to troubleshoot a non-functional widget only to find that the issue is a typo).
It would be cool if somehow the Events panel just KNEW what the contents of my ComboBox were, so I could add stuff or not. Having to replace every "$ANY$" with my custom stuff is an extra step.
