Hi Tony, we're battling the bugs here in Beta ;)
I have just now reset your Beta status which should do the trick.
You should get another email, but in fact if you try logging out of the website and back in, then clicking "launch game" again, you should be set.
Let me know if that did the trick and enjoy the fighting!

I see that Oli has picked up the ticket so you're in good hands there :) hopefully we can get to the bottom of this soon. Also, my apologies, as pointed out by Oli there was absolutely an error of omission on my part in the previous comment. – kris, on October 06, 2009 04:24

To test game access when not logged in already, log out from web (or before you log-in) and go to:
http://www.hoursofwar.com/pages/play
Try to log in directly there and see if there is a difference. – kris, on October 04, 2009 21:35

Very sorry to hear that porsliini.
There were some issues yesterday when the game went down, which can have the exact effect as this issue, but right now it is running fine. There certainly don't seem to be any obvious issues with your user as such and at this stage I don't think there's much point in asking whether you might be putting in the wrong screenname/pwd details ;) so the only thing remaining that comes to mind is port connection issues.
You've mentioned that you have tried accessing from more than one location, is there any possibility - although it seems very unlikely - that port 5222 might be inaccessible from both those places due to firewall restrictions (but for some reason only intermittently, since you have also managed to get in successfully) ?
Depending on your level of technical literacy, you might want to try creating a Telnet connection to port 5222 (which the game uses currently) to see if the connection can be made at all.
I am also putting this issue up for further investigation, but unfortunately that wont be until tomorrow (Monday).
Also, if you prefer, remember that you can always send us a message at communitymanager@hoursofwar.com
which can be especially useful if you have details you don't feel comfortable posting publicly.
Thanks again for your patience, help and support. It is greatly appreciated and hopefully you will be without problems soon and enjoying life on the battlefield !

Got it - appears a small glitch is rearing it's head in our Beta processing, sorry about that. Your user should work correctly now, you will receive another "welcome to beta" email as it also required resetting your beta status.
If you are currently logged into the website, please log-out and log back in. After that you should be good to go :-)
Enjoy the fighting.

Hi bloodynm.
What is your registered screenname in Hours of War?
Have you managed to log in before or this first time since you got accepted into beta testing group? – kris, on September 29, 2009 14:07
A comment on the problem "Two simultaneous widgets - only one loads" in Get Satisfaction:
Is there no parameter that can be added to the widget callback with either the div id it should load to or a param saying "load to parent div" ?
It would make this problem a whole lot easier to solve...
:)
PS accidentally posted as topic reply initially - for some reason the delete isn't working so if it's still there... sorry for the doubleposting.. – kris, on September 28, 2009 15:36-

kris replied on September 28, 2009 15:14 to the question "How can I get Popular Ideas section to show in my Feedback tab widget?" in Get Satisfaction:
I have a similar case where there are a lot of submitted ideas and we are viewing the "popular ideas" section, but cannot find a way to show this via the topic list widget. It seems odd that there is a section within ideas for "popular ideas" but this cannot be displayed via the widget - only new/recently active/unanswered are available...-

Hi Brent.
you'll be glad to hear that one of the things we are actively looking into includes the various options for having some sort of a Comrade list. :)
If there are specific details regarding this feature that you would especially like, please do share them with us here so we can take them into account during our design discussions.
Thanks for the comment and your support in improving Hours of War :)
