Kunal replied on April 26, 2009 03:44 to the problem "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" in reQall:
Hi Deb,
The problem reappeared I rebooted my system. Now there seems to be a cognizant pattern.
Normally, when my system boots up, it starts up 15 custom applications, including Outlook. Consequently, the boot-up process is rather slow (10-12 minutes before the system reaches a stable state). Applications such as Outlook do get launched in memory within seconds, but are inaccessible for several minutes. Additionally, my network connection takes several minutes to stabilize. reQall displays that error in this scenario. Perhaps "some object" in Outlook has not loaded (probably because it is starved of memory space or CPU time or network bandwidth), and reQall is looking for an object that is not yet in memory?
To confirm this, I prevented Outlook from automatically starting during boot-up. Instead, I explicitly launched Outlook several minutes after my system had booted-up and reached a stable state. Then there were no errors, and reQall appeared in Outlook's menu bar.
To verify this, I changed my system configuration to start just Outlook and 2-3 critical applications from amongst the 15 custom apps. This would theoretically, allow more startup memory and CPU for Outlook. This time, the system booted up much faster, and sure enough, reQall started with no errors.
I repeated the experiment by changing the startup set of apps to others a few times (to make sure that a specific custom application wasn't causing the problem). Each time the system booted up much faster, and reQall did not throw any errors.
To close the loop, I re-enabled Outlook to start at boot-up, along with all the 15 apps. The system boot-up slowed down as expected, and the problem with reQall reappeared.
I understand that the problem may not necessarily be because of a slow boot-up (memory or CPU starvation), but it's a place to start looking for it. Instead, It could simply be an undetected/rogue custom application (or applications) that's interfering with reQall, in which case, it's a different ball game.
Hope this helps.

OUTLOOK:
Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 12.0.6316.5000 SP1 MSO (12.0.6316.5000) Security Mode: default
WINDOWS:
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1, 32-bit
Here's the specific, reproducible behavior:
1. Shutdown Outlook 2007
2. Install reQallOutlookAddIn_setup.exe
3. Wait for 2 minutes, *without starting Outlook*
4. Error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" is shown
5. Start Outlook
6. reQall *is not listed* on my Outlook tool bar, or anywhere else in Outlook
7. Shutdown Outlook, uninstall reQallOutlookAddIn
8. Repeat steps 1-7
It seems that the addin does not work at all.

Object reference not set to an instance of an objectI installed the reQall plugin for Outlook 2007, and have begun getting this error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". The error window is titled "reQall Outlook..." or some such thing.
Any idea what it is or what it means?

iPhone "Done" button is confusingOn the iPhone, when viewing the details of a task, the button at the top left shouldn't say "Done". That's confusing and seems to indicate that the task will be marked as "Done"

Improving! Keep up the momentum. Now worth recommendingDefinitely an improvement over the previous iPhone version. Stabler, nicer UI. I use it on my iPhone 90% of the time. iPhone version needs a "notification" icon change.
Kunal reported a problem in Producteev on March 16, 2009 05:34:
Cannot Add a Colleague using the iPhone UIOn the iPhone fw2.2.1, Producteev doesn't let me add a colleague. The instructions on the screen ask me to click the "Search Colleague" button, but no such button exists (see screenshot).
Is this functionality missing from Producteev altogether or just from the iPhone?
Kunal asked a question in reQall on January 29, 2009 16:18:
What is the point of a reQall app for the iPhone?I added the reQall app from the AppStore, but I'm struggling to understand what advantage it brings. So far my experience with the app has been less than satisfactory... it requires me to jump through hoops to sync between reQall and iPhone's calendar, and that too, only select events get synced.
Is there a plan to make the reQall iPhone app actually usable?-

Why do items due next week not show up in the "Later" tab?I've added a voice-based To-Do item that seems to have been recognized correctly (date, time, etc.).
It's due next week, yet it only shows up in the "Soon" tab, but not in the "Later" tab.
In the "Later" tab, all I see is "You don't have anything due next week or beyond. To schedule items, include dates when you add."-

But when syncing, Outlook 2007 (Vista Home Premium SP1) shows the following error:
Please help!
Also, how do I sync between reQall and Google Calendar?
Thanks in advance.
Kunal replied on January 07, 2009 01:56 to the problem "Firefox hangs and lags after launching" in Mozilla:
I contacted Norton/Symantec support about it, and they provided the solution... upgrade to Norton 2009. Apparently it has a fix for the Firefox 3.x freezing/hanging/not responding issue.
And it worked! With Symantec Norton Internet Security 2009, at least the hanging and lagging issues have vanished.
Kunal replied on January 06, 2009 08:31 to the problem "Firefox hangs and lags after launching" in Mozilla:
I had the same set of problems that appeared with FF 3.0.5, including:
1. Long time to load new tabs
2. Long time to open new links in new tabs
3. Appearance of "hanging" - cursor shows busy, and tabs seem frozen for 5-10 seconds
4. When FF comes out of its frozen mode, several tabs show "Page load error"
None of these problems appeared with IE or Google Chrome.
Problems 1-3 vanished when I turned off my Symantec Norton AV and Windows Defender completely. All pages/tabs loaded instantly, with no appearance of freezing or hanging.
However, problem 4 remains, where some new tabs *instantly* show "Page load error".
Hope some of this helps. I know it's not a solution (I can't obviously disable my computer's lines of defense), but maybe someone from the Mozilla team is listening and has a better workaround or a solution?
