Regarding memekode comments, I fully agree that the major problem here was miscommunication. Don't take this email as a complaint, but what it is intended to be...an explanation of how I felt during all of this. I started using Flock for one major reason...the Flock integration with Flickr. As I used Flock more and more, I began to realize it had more and more potential. Then the Flock/Flickr functionality broke.

I then began searching for a fix. I would read similar problems from the past, and see at the end a statement about this fix or that fix had "fixed the problem." Well, it hadn't in my case and I continued to look for something. Everything was generalized in statement. New comments regarding the problem were referred back to the older worthless-to-new-problem replies...it was an aggravating situation. I was beginning to feel like the problem I and a lot of other people were having, was being ignored.

I don't know anything about the 1's and 0's of programming, but I do know something about customer relations. To say, we're going to fix other problems also and release everything as a new numbered version when done, gave me and probably other Flock/Flickr users, the impression that you and everyone at Flock felt that Flickr users were now unimportant. The MAJOR functionality of Flock/Flickr was broken and it was going to be rolled into a fix of other bugs? That really upset me and still does. And now, comparing that functionality to loosing the last character in a Twitter post or people not getting chat messages that can be resent? I'm sure those people bothered by those problems thought they were major, but at least they could still use Flock to do those things to an extent. There is currently nothing about Flock/Flicker functionality that I can use and nothing I can't do with other browsers.

Explaining things from the start like you did in your way-to-late update would have helped stop a lot of anxiety and ill-will from users who enjoy the Flock/Flickr integration. Then doing REGULAR and timely updates at the progress would have prevented even more trouble from occurring. I have noticed that the "Get Satisfaction" search capabilities remind me of Google...you get millions of hits and have to wade through a lot of junk to find what you're looking for. So it is easy to loose an initial message on something.

I'm still on the fence about Flock and it's "people practices." But I am willing to wait for the 2.5.1 update and see what happens then. I do appreciate that y'all at Flock Hq do read posts here and all, but in the future, try listening harder to what the people are saying. After all, Flock wouldn't be anything if not for the users.

Just how much longer are we how enjoyed Flock's integration with Flickr going to have to wait for the fix that SHOULD have been released the you realized it worked as a patch???

Just so you know...I have stopped recommending this browser to people and will not recommend it again until such time the developers realize that the USER comes first.

Thanks Chris...That's is what I was looking for. But I have another question regarding it. When I drop the image in the editor, it asks which area I want to upload the photo to. I would like to add Blogger to that list, since that is where I want the image to be. I understand Blogger uses Picasa to power its image uploading, but for a number of reason I don't want to get into, I'd rather not open a Picasa account for that process. From information I got in a reply above, when the image is uploaded to Blogger, it goes to Picasa with special Blogger tagging. If the image is removed from the blog, it is also removed from Picasa. Sweet and simple...just the way I like things.

How can I change to upload drop down box to include Blogger as the spot to upload the image?

Thanks for the information, Sophie. I figured out that GetSatisfaction wasn't part of Flock shortly after I posted the initial message. I need to look closer at things...hehehe.

As for my original request, I didn't know Blogger hosted the images there. I guess the "blogspot" URL is in reality, Picasa...which I have never really liked. But it is a transparent operation.

I think what happened is I didn't make myself clear in my initial post. I prefer the simplest of operations. When I post to one of my blogs, I upload my photos, and then have to rearrange them through a copy and paste process, which gets old when several or more photos are included in the post.

What I was looking for, and asking about, is simplification of the process. I would like it to be a one stop process, if possible. I type my words until I get to the spot I want my image inserted, click on the editor action which allows me to place an image in that spot, navigate to its storage area, select it, click OK and continue with my typing.

Forcing an old fart like me to upload the image to a storage area, copy the URL, place the URL within my post where I want the image to show, forces me into a lot of extra actions which is where Murphy takes over. And if a problem arises in those actions due to my own stupidity, I get frustrated trying to figure it out.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who would like to see a "One stop blogging" capability for locally hosted images.

    Thanks

Actually, when I click on the Image Icon, I get a screen which asks for strictly an URL, and does not contain any navigation dialog to upload an image from my computer. What I see looks like this:

I might be clicking on the wrong Icon. In any case, I don't have the capability to upload images from my computer to Blogger.

    Photo uploading to Blogger
First of all, I'm and old fart and your Customer Support Community page is really confusing. Put topic search somewhere on top at least...somewhere where it stands out.

OK...now for my reason for doing this "Share an idea" thing, which I hope is the proper way to submit an idea.

Photography is a major part of my life currently. And when I write something for my Blogger accounts, I'll often upload a photo from my computer to be included in the blog post. I prefer to have my photos with the blog itself, not uploaded to another site and linked to from the post. All too often, the link breaks for whatever reason and the photo isn't seen by the person visiting my blog. So having it included with the post is, for me, the way to go.

However, when I wrote my first Blogger post in Flock, I looked for a way to include a photo in the writing. When I dragged a photo to insert in the post, Flock attempted to upload the photo to Photobucket, or Facebook, or something...I don't remember right now. That is not what I wanted to do. I wanted to insert the photo within the body of type and NOT have to upload it to another site, and link it in post.

I may have missed the way to do that, but I believe I looked throughout out the blog editor for a way to do it...and couldn't find it.

So, I then come here to the "Share an idea" section and see in the lower left corner, an "Add an image" action. It appears to allow for local hosted images to be uploaded for this "idea." Is there a way that same function can be added to the Blog editor, thereby giving me and probably a lot of other Flock users the ability to manage their blogs better before publishing?

    Thanks.
